GT vs LSG: Watch - Mohammed Shami Knocks Over Quinton de Kock With A Ripping Inswinger

Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Mohammed Shami provided the perfect start for his team in its debut match in IPL against fellow newcomers, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

He dismissed LSG captain and opener, KL Rahul, with a peach on the very first ball of the match. Soon after, he one-upped himself and produced another ripper, this time to see the back of South African batter, Quinton de Kock.

Coming in from around the wicket, Shami landed one off a good length and got it to seam in. De Kock was caught unawares and was cut in half as the ball jagged past him and smashed into the top of the middle and leg stump.

The two franchises are playing their first-ever game in the IPL after being added to the league this year. The starting lineups bordered along expected lines, with LSG opting to field de Kock, Evin Lewis, and Dushmantha Chameera as their overseas players.

As for GT, they opted to include Matthew Wade as the keeper. He is playing in his first IPL game after 11 years. David Miller, Rashid Khan, and Lockie Ferguson are the other overseas players on Hardik Pandya’s team.
