GT vs MI: Watch - Rashid Khan Traps Rohit Sharma In Front of Wicket
Rohit Sharma has not been in the best of forms in IPL 2022. He has gotten starts but has failed to convert those starts. He yet again couldn’t convert his start against GT here on Friday at Brabourne Stadium as Rashid Khan trapped him in front of the wicket.
He got out for 43 runs off 28 balls, his highest score in the tournament so far.
Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma Gave Good Start To Mumbai Indians
Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma, both MI openers have struggled to get going in IPL 2022. Kishan started the season well but somehow lost his form after the first 3 games. He struggled to time the ball inside the powerplay. Rohit Sharma on the other hand looked good in most innings and started very well on most occasions as he got early boundaries but always failed to convert his big starts.
After GT won the toss and chose to bowl, both Rohit and Ishan looked good. Rohit Sharma was timing the ball like a dream as he smashed Alzarri Joseph for boundaries through the off-side.
Rohit was looking all set to get his first fifty of the season but he tried a shot too many. He tried to reverse sweep Rashid Khan but the ball hit his back pad. The on-field decision was not out but both Rashid Khan and wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha were confident that it was out. Hardik Pandya, therefore went upstairs straightaway. The hawk-eye confirmed that the ball would have crashed into the stumps.
The first wicket partnership, therefore, ended on 74 in the 8th over. Even though Rohit got out, MI would hope that the other batters can capitalise on the good start. The likes of Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma are in good touch and they would look to score big. MI is looking for their 2nd win of the tournament.
