GT vs RR: Shoaib Akhtar Picks His Winner Of The IPL 2022 Final

Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has picked his choice between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals as the winner of IPL 2022 final. The two sides will play for one final time this season at the Narendra Modi stadium in the big final.
Meanwhile, former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar while speaking to Sportskeeda picked his winner for the game. He said that he is backing Gujarat Titans to win the final as he wanted one of the two new teams to win the title this year.
The veteran further said that Rajasthan will want to win the final in memory of the late Shane Warne who led them to the title in 2008.
“One team (Rajasthan) has made the final after 14 years. In memory of Shane Warne, I hope Rajasthan go out there and smash Gujarat. Heart says, ‘RR win it for Shane Warne’.
“They have faced a lot of difficulties to reach the final after 14 years. But, as I had said earlier, I also always wanted one of the new teams to win because they have played so well. I will go with Gujarat,” said Shoaib.
Shoaib Akhtar further said that both teams will be nervous heading into the final. Both teams have endured a lot of nervous moments and will face some more in the final.
“Both Rajasthan and Gujarat will be nervous. RR will have a point to prove as they have made the final for the first time since 2008. They will be excited and their aggression will be over the moon. On the other hand, Gujarat will also want to leave their mark in their first season” the legendary pacer said.

Both Rajasthan and Gujarat have faced each other twice in the season. Gujarat have won both the games with the most recent being their win over the Royals in Qualifier 1. A win for Gujarat will see them winning the title in their debut season. On the other hand, Rajasthan will win the title after 14 seasons if it eventually happens.
