Former Indian leg-spinner Amit Mishra went unsold in the recently concluded IPL 2022 mega auctions but his time in cricket isn’t over yet, as confirmed by his tweet in response to Delhi Capitals (DC) co-owner, Parth Jindal.

Jindal thanked Mishra for his services and also hinted that the doors are open for Mishra should he ever want to join the franchise in a capacity other than a player. In response, Mishra pledged allegiance to the side.

Thanks @ParthJindal11 for the kind words & your acknowledgement of my services for the team. I am truly humbled! But, I am not finished yet and can easily add to your legacy of @DelhiCapitals… only if DC needs me! I am always in their corner. #ibleedDC,” Mishra tweeted.

Here’s Amit Mishra’s response:

Mishra began his IPL journey back in 2008 with Delhi Daredevils (DD). He went on to become one of the most decorated players in the league and is currently in third place on the all-time wicket-takers list.

Only Lasith Malinga (170 wickets) and Dwayne Bravo (167 wickets) have taken more wickets than Mishra. In addition, Mishra also holds the record for the most hattricks (3) in IPL history. He was also the most experienced player in the auction pool.

Apart from Mishra, there were several other major players who went unsold in the auction. The biggest name was Suresh Raina, whose partnership with Chennai Super Kings has officially come to an end. Australian player Steve Smith also couldn’t bag a contract with any franchise.
