A total of 590 players are set to go under the hammer during IPL 2022 auction. The event is scheduled to take place on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru. Out of 590 players, there are 370 Indian players and 220 overseas players.

While Australia has most 47 players in the overseas category, England also has a decent number of players in the auction with 24. A few England players are also crucial members of their respective teams. While some English players are expected to attract a massive bid, there are few who might go unsold. 5. James Vince

James Vince is the first player on this list. The right-handed batsman has kept a base price of Rs. 2 crores for himself. However, the England batsman has no experience in IPL. He often makes it to the national side but not on a regular basis.

He was also not part of the England squad during ICC T20 World Cup 2021 last year. He is an emerging batsman for England in T20I cricket. With such a huge base price, he is likely to be overlooked by selectors during IPL 2022 auction.

4. Reece Topley

Reece Topley is another England player on this list. Topley has kept a base price of Rs. 75 lakh. He is a pace bowler. The right-arm pacer did not play for England in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Moreover, he is not a regular member of the squad and gets an entry in the national team on rare occasions.

Moreover, after playing a T20I game in match 2016, he returned to the national side in only January 2022. Hence, he is not a consistent bowler in T20Is for England and franchises might not pick him during IPL 2022 auction.

3. Lewis Gregory

Lewis Gregory is another England player who might go unsold in IPL 2022 auction. The England all-rounder has set a base price of Rs. 1.5 crore. Last year, he went unsold at Rs. 40 lakh base price. Gregory has very little international experience in his kitty.

He has only played 3 ODIs and 7 T20Is for England so far. He also does not account for a fabulous performance in any game. With such a massive price, franchises might not be interested to pick the all-rounder in their squads.

2. Samit Patel

Samit Patel is an all-rounder from England. He has kept a base price of Rs. 50 lakh for himself. Since the right-handed batsman is 37 years old, franchises will not be interested to purchase him as he does not have many years ahead in his career.

Moreover, he does not feature for England in the national team currently. He also has no experience of playing in Indian Premier League in the past. Hence, Patel is another England player who might go unsold in IPL 2022 auction.

Craig Overton is a bowling all-rounder from England. He has kept a base price of Rs. 2 crores for himself. The right-arm pacer has little international experience as he has only played 6 Tests and 4 ODIs so far. Moreover, he has not played a single T20I in his career so far.

With his less presence in England’s national side, franchises might not go for him during IPL 2022 auction. Moreover, he has also kept a big price of Rs. 2 crores for himself and franchises will be unwilling to spend such a big amount for him.
