Having played under Prithvi Shaw in the U19 World Cup, Mavi garnered attention for his pace bowling and was bought by KKR in IPL 2018 for INR 3 crores.

Back then he was selected based on his performance in the 2018 U19 World Cup, where he picked nine wickets from six matches.

Mavi has played for KKR in three seasons and has claimed 25 wickets at an average of 28.60. The Uttar Pradesh pace bowler has received a hike in his payment but still needs to justify it by getting early wickets and needs to control the leaking of runs.
