IPL 2022 auction is set to take place next month. The mega event is scheduled to be conducted on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru. A total of 1214 players have registered themselves for IPL 2022 mega auction. Out of these, there are 896 Indian players and 318 overseas players.
Ahead of the auction, the old 8 franchises were asked to retain a maximum of 4 players in their squads. These 8 teams retained a total of 27 players in their squads. Later, the two new franchises Ahmedabad and Lucknow picked 3 players each in their squad from the pool of released players.
If we talk about the England players, there are 2 players who have managed to get their names in the retentions list. Moeen Ali has been retained by Chennai Super Kings while Jos Buttler has been retained by Rajasthan Royals. Many other England players were released by their respective franchises.
