IPL 2022: BCCI Releases Compartmentalised List Of Cricketers Entering Mega Auction Pool

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released a compartmentalised list of players who will be entering the IPL 2022 mega auction scheduled to take place on February 12 & 13 in Bengaluru.

The deadline to register in the pool closed on January 20th following which, the apex board released a detailed list of 1214 players that includes 270 capped, 903 uncapped, and 41 associate players.

The ten franchises in the league can bid for the players and each franchise can have a squad with a maximum of 25 players. Since each franchise has retained and drafted a few players, there are 217 remaining spots to be filled with of which, 70 can be overseas.

Out of 896 Indians in the pool, 61 are capped, 143 are uncapped players who have played in previous IPL seasons, and 692 are uncapped players. The 318 overseas players are split into 209 capped, 41 associates, 6 uncapped who were part of previous IPL seasons, and 62 uncapped players.

The country with the most number of players in the pool is Australia, from where 59 players have registered. South Africa and West Indies have 48 and 41 enlisted, while Bhutan, Netherlands, UAE, and Scotland have one player each.

  • Lucknow – KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, Ravi Bishnoi
  • RCB – Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Mohammed Siraj
  • SRH – Kane Williamson, Abdul Samad, Umran Malik
  • MI – Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Kieron Pollard
  • PBKS – Mayank Agarwal, Arshdeep Singh
  • RR – Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal
  • Ahmedabad – Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, Shubman Gill
