Rajasthan Royals youngster Riyan Parag said he has the potential to become a great finisher for the Indian cricket team in future. Parag was part of the India U19 squad led by Prithvi Shaw in the 2018 U19 World Cup in New Zealand. The Assam player was bought by Rajasthan Royals in the 2019 IPL auction for his base price of INR 20 lakhs.

In IPL 2019, Parag became the youngest player to score fifty against Delhi Capitals at the age of 17 and 175 days, he broke Rajasthan Royals teammate Sanju Samson’s record. The franchise was impressed with his finishing skills, so they once again bought him for INR 3.80 crore in the IPL 2022 auction.

I’ve got a lot to work on and I’ve got to be consistent: Riyan Parag

The youngster aspires to play for the Indian team and finish games, a similar role employed at Rajasthan Royals. Parag believes he will need to put in the hard yards to transform himself into a better finisher.

“I don’t want to praise myself too much, but I think I can be the best finisher not just for Rajasthan Royals but for India in years to come. I have got the skill-set, I’ve got the all-rounder abilities and not just batting, fielding and bowling as well,” Parag said on ‘Red Bull’s Greatness Starts Here’, a video was shared by CricTracker.4
