Interestingly, Lucknow lost all their games against the teams which made the playoffs. This means he did not have good plans against the best teams in the IPL. Tactically both captain and as a batsman, he was found wanting on various occasions throughout the season. He was good at the start as captain but his tactical shortcomings were on view in the crunch games.
