IPL 2022: Sunrisers Hyderabad Pacer Karthik Tyagi Receives Motivation From Dale Steyn

IPL 2022: 21-year-old Karthik Tyagi, the young pacer from India who was bought for 4 crores by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Mega Auctions seems to be in good hands as he received words of great motivation from speed gun Dale Steyn.
Tyagi who was part of the India U 19 side who finished runners up in the 2020 U 19 World Cup, last played a competitive match in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League for Rajasthan Royals.

Karthik Tyagi was an instrumental part of RR in the last two seasons, as he bowled well in the powerplay and even at the death.
He went with team India as a net bowler on India’s tour of Australia 2020- 21. Although most players on the tour got a chance to play, Tyagi did not get a game.
Nevertheless, in a recent video shared by Sunrisers Hyderabad on Twitter, Steyn could be heard motivating the young pacer. He told Tyagi: “Just gradual. You’re a Ferrari, you take off in the first gear, not the sixth gear. Slowly but surely, I want you to get to the sixth gear.”
Tyagi has not got a game so far for SRH, but he soon might get a look in as SRH have lost both their opening games and is struggling to find the right rhythm. They finished with the wooden spoon last season. They would want to make quick amends this season.
Karthik Tyagi in his practice session said, ” first of all, I met the whole team. I met Dale as well, I was excited to work with him. The first session was a bit tiring; it was fun joining the team.
“I am trying to get back to my routine. Firstly, bowling the number of overs I usually do. Today I tried to bowl more overs, I tried fielding. Creating match like scenarios during practice. I’m practising yorkers and bowling with the new ball.”
SRH next faces Chennai Super Kings, only time will tell if Tyagi gets a game against CSK.
