IPL 2022: 'The Responsibility Is Off Ravindra Jadeja's Shoulders Now' Ajay Jadeja On MS Dhoni's Comeback As CSK Captain

Former India batsman Ajay Jadeja thinks Ravindra Jadeja’s decision to hand over the leadership to MS Dhoni is a beneficial one for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

He emphasized that the wicketkeeper-batsman is a brilliant leader and that the team would indeed be better off with Dhoni in charge.

Ajay Jadeja remarked on Cricbuzz that if MS Dhoni is in a squad, he must lead it. He believes the 40-year-old succeeds in that role and has demonstrated his leadership abilities countless times.

Ravindra Jadeja will benefit from surrendering the leadership, according to the cricketer-turned-commentator, because he will be relieved of additional burden. According to him,

“MS Dhoni has to be the captain if he is in the squad. Everyone appears to be pleased, and I believe Ravindra Jadeja is pleased as well, as the responsibility has been lifted from his shoulders.”

Virender Sehwag on MS Dhoni taking over CSK captaincy from Ravindra Jadeja:

Ex-India opener Virender Sehwag remarked in the video that the four-time winners now have a decent opportunity of mounting a comeback because MS Dhoni is poised to head the team for the rest of the IPL 2022.

CSK are presently in ninth place in the points table, having won only two of their eight games. According to Sehwag,

“We’ve been saying since the beginning that if MS Dhoni isn’t the skipper, CSK will fail. It’s better to be late than never. They have always had half of their games to play, so they have an opportunity to make a comeback.”

The Super Kings will next play on Sunday (May 1), when they face the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the season’s 46th match. The game is set to take place at the MCA Stadium in Pune.
