IPL 2022: Updated Points Table, Orange Cap and Purple Cap After Match 47 KKR vs RR

Kolkata Knight Riders finally got to winning ways as they defeated Rajasthan Royals in Match 47 of IPL 2022 here at The Wankhede Stadium by 7 wickets. Rinku Singh got to show his full potential as he smashed 42 runs from 23 balls and took his side over the line.

This was KKR’s first win after 5 losses in a row. While this is RR’s second consecutive loss.

Earlier in the day, Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to field. KKR dropped Venkatesh Iyer and brought in Anukul Roy. Shivam Mavi also returned to the side. While for RR Karun Nair made a comeback into the XI.

RR did not have a great start as they lost Devdutt Padikkal early. Buttler too did not get going as he managed only 22 runs off 25 balls. Sanju Samson started well and scored a fifty but as he went deeper in his innings his strike rate dipped.

Shimron Hetmyer in the death overs struck some massive blows as he scored 27 off 13 balls and helped RR put 152 runs on the board.

Kolkata Knight Riders did not have a great start to their chase as Aaron Finch got out in the 4th over itself.

Baba Indrajith too got out inside the powerplay. Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana then had a great partnership in the middle but then as it looked like that KKR would chase the score easily Trent Boult returned and bounced out Iyer in the 13th over.

But Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh’s 50+ partnership took KKR over the line. Rinku Singh took the pressure off Nitish Rana which helped KKR chase down the target with 5 balls to spare.
