IPL 2022: Watch- You Have Been Putting Pressure On The Opening Spot- Jos Buttler Tells Yuzvendra Chahal In Hilarious Banter

Rajasthan Royals (RR) batter Jos Buttler and spinner Yuzvendra Chahal were seen engaging in hilarious banter after their side decimated Mumbai Indians (MI) in their latest match of the IPL 2022 season. Buttler starred with the bat as he scored the first century of this tournament and his second overall in the Indian Premier League.

Buttler was the connoisseur of RR fans’ eyes as he slammed 100 in 67 balls with 5 sixes and 11 fours. Apart from him, Sanju Samson’s 30 and Shimron Hetmyer’s 35 in 14 balls were enough to take the Royals to 193/8 in 20 overs.

Mumbai Indians were never in the chase despite Ishan Kishan’s 54 and young Tilak Varma’s impressive 61 with 5 sixes and 3 fours in his knock. MI finished on 170/8, to lose by 23 runs and they are still to open their account on the IPL 2022 points table. Navdeep Saini and Yuzvendra Chahal picked two wickets apiece.

After the match, Rajasthan Royals (RR) batter Jos Buttler and spinner Yuzvendra Chahal engaged in funny banter in which Buttler said that he needs to keep scoring runs if he has to keep Chahal from opening for RR.

Interestingly, Chahal has been asking and goading Buttler even before the IPL 2022 began, that he wants to open the innings with Jos Buttler and Buttler is more or less annoyed with Chahal being so persistent.

“Absolutely! Ever since you turned up this year, you have been putting pressure on the opening spot. Have to take my time to score some runs to keep you on the outside,” Buttler told Chahal in a video chat between the two after the match.

“Really enjoyed today. When you are batting first you try to work out what will be a good score and I thought we put up a nice total. “I have huge hopes for us as a side this year. I love the squad we have put together. Lot’s of great people involved in the background and a lot of guys for you to get to know and have fun with,” Buttler added.

RR will next face RCB on April 5 with Chahal looking to do well against his former franchise.
