Former Pakistani leg-spinner Danish Kaneria has praised the Indian Premier League (IPL) and called it the biggest T20 League in the world and said that no other league can even come close to it. He also praised the kind gesture of Indian Premier League franchises who wished their respective Australian players for their upcoming tour of Pakistan.

Indian Premier League franchises Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) had taken to their official Twitter accounts to wish their respective Australian players for their tour to Pakistan. A host of Australian cricketers are expected to be not available for the start of the IPL 2022 due to their national commitment during the Pakistan tour.

Delhi Capitals have Mitchell Marsh and David Warner from Australia, while Kolkata Knight Riders bought back Australia Test captain Pat Cummins in the IPL 2022 auction.

“The IPL franchises showed a gesture regarding their Australian players in Pakistan. They wished them all the best for the iconic Australia tour of Pakistan. There’s nothing wrong there. India has always been there to support their players,” Kaneria said on his official YouTube channel.

Kaneria was further praiseful of the Indian Premier League and said that it was the biggest T20 league in the world and no other league even comes closer to it. He was critical of certain sections of the Pakistan cricket fraternity which puts blame on India whenever players or teams opt out of the tour to the country, India continued to show such gestures.

“IPL is the biggest league in the world. There’s nothing bigger than that and nothing can even come close. The people affiliated with IPL are some of the most respected ones in cricket. Every time, when a team leaves Pakistan, some people blame India. If a player opts out of a tour, the blame shifts to India. Anything wrong happens, it is blamed on India. But there’s no reaction from there. The gesture that IPL franchises showed to their players was immense,” said Kaneria.

The IPL 2022 is expected to begin on either March 26 or 27 and the league stage will be played entirely in Maharashtra with 70 matches being played across four venues- Wankhede Stadium, DY Patil Stadium, Brabourne Stadium, and the MCA Stadium in Pune.
