Kane Williamson, Umran Mailk And Abdul Samad Retained By Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) For IPL 2022. Sunrisers Hyderabad have announced their retentions list for IPL 2022. November 30 was the deadline for the franchises to announce their retentions list for IPL 2022. Due to the additions of 2 new franchises Lucknow and Ahmedabad in IPL 2022, a mega auction will take place ahead of next year’s tournament.

Hence, all the current 8 teams were asked to retain a maximum of 4 players in their squad. Out of these 4 players, there can be a maximum of 3 domestic players and a maximum of 2 overseas players. The teams could choose to go with either 1, 2, 3, or 4 players in their retentions list. The teams could also go with 0 retentions.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Announce IPL 2022 Retentions List

Sunrisers Hyderabad announced their retained players for IPL 2022. Sunrisers Hyderabad have retained Kane Williamson, Umran Mailk and Abdul Samad for the next season. Kane Williamson was the skipper of the team in the previous season.

Sunrisers Hyderabad gave a horrible performance in IPL 2021. The team won only 3 matches out of the 14 they played and finished on the last spot in the points table with just 6 points. They remained on the last spot on the points table since the start of the season and could not improve their show throughout the season.

After the announcement of retained players, the two new franchises will be allowed to pick 3 players from the pool of released players in their squad. Out of these 3 players, 2 should be domestic players while one should be an overseas player.

Every team will have a salary purse of Rs. 90 crore during IPL 2022 mega-auction. For retaining the players, the teams will lose some amount from this salary cap. For retaining 4 players, Rs. 42 crore will be deducted from the salary purse. For retaining 3 players, Rs. 33 crore will be deducted from the salary purse. Similarly for 2 and 1 players, Rs. 24 crore and Rs. 14 crore will be deducted from a team’s salary cap.
