Coach Andy Flower advised both batsmen to retire during the LSG innings against KKR due to the batting assault. During the mid-innings break, Flower said, “They batted wonderfully and put up a great score. Both hitters are stunning to watch. We sent a message out after the 18th over, saying that if you guys are too tired of striking the ball hard, you may retire and we’ll bring in some of our big-hitters.”

‘We’ll be in a good position and we’ll do the things correctly’: Andy Flower

The LSG coach went on to say, “From 1 to 9, all of these boys can hit balls like that. One boundary is large, so Quinton hitting the ball like that, who isn’t known for his powerful hitting, would have been ecstatic.”

“One thing is certain: if you become arrogant in this game, it will bite you in the rear. That will be one of the messages we send out. We’ll be in an excellent position if we get the basics right” Andy Flower Added.

KKR lost by two runs against LSG on Wednesday. The Rahul-led side batted first and scored 210 runs in 20 overs without sacrificing a wicket. KKR sacrificed their openers only when the team total was only nine runs, chasing a massive target of 211 runs.
