Batting first, Kolkata Knight Riders openers Venkatesh Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane were able to add only 17 runs together as the former was cleaned by Marco Jansen in the second over. However, Nitish Rana’s aggressive intent in the powerplay helped KKR score 55/1.

Jammu and Kashmir express pacer Umran Malik helped SRH make a comeback as he produced a double-wicket over in the 8th over by dismissing Nitish Rana and Ajinkya Rahane. Also, he dismissed KKR captain Shreyas Iyer in the 10th over.

In the end, Andre Russell’s brilliant unbeaten 49 runs knock and Sam Billings’ good 35 runs innings helped Kolkata Knight Riders score 177/6.
