KKR vs RR- Kolkata Knight Riders’ Predicted Playing XI Against Rajasthan Royals.

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Rajasthan Royals, KKR Playing 11 vs RR (Predicted), IPL 2022, Match 47, KKR vs RR. The 47th match of IPL 2022 will be played between 8th placed Kolkata Knight Riders and 2nd placed Rajasthan Royals. The match is scheduled for 2nd May, Monday at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai at 7:30 pm. Both the teams will play their 10th match of the season against each other.

SRH vs CSK Dream11 Prediction

Kolkata Knight Riders were defeated for the sixth time in the Indian Premier League 2022. The Delhi Capitals were the team that defeated them. The franchise has lost five matches in a row. In their last match against Delhi Capitals, they lost the match by 4 wickets. If KKR losses one more match then the team will be out of the Playoffs race. It is important for the franchise to win all 5 matches.

The Kolkata Knight Riders, led by Shreyas Iyer, would do all in their power to avoid that situation, and a win over RR might help them regain that edge. Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, have twelve points and consider Gujarat Titans to be a shared adversary. As a result, Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals will be gunning for that two-point cushion as well.

Jos Buttler’s second century of the season followed by Yuzvendra Chahal’s five-wicket haul, including a game-changing hat-trick ensured a 7-run victory for Rajasthan Royals in the previous IPL 2022 match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Brabourne Stadium.

Aaron Finch, and Shreyas Iyer’s half-centuries and Umesh Yadav’s late blitz gave Kolkata Knight Riders a chance before they fell short in a big chase of 218. KKR could manage 210, falling short by 7 runs. Rajasthan Royals defended 217 by the skin of their teeth in an instant IPL classic with debutant Obed McCoy rearranging Umesh Yadav’s stumps to see out a nerve-jangling win.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) got off to a flying start in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, winning three of their opening four matches. But they lost the momentum soon after and then, endured five defeats on the trot. The recent one came against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Thursday at Wankhede Stadium. They only managed to post 146/9 after batting first, which DC saw off with an over and three wickets to spare.

Shreyas Iyer scored 42 against DC but took 37 balls to get there before he was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav. Nitish Rana batted well, scoring 57 off 34 balls, but received little support. Coming at No. 8, Rinku Singh scored 23 off 16 balls, which helped them to reach a respectable total.

In the previous IPL 2022 match against Delhi, KKR fielded debutant keeper Baba Indrajith and pacer Harshit Rana in place of out-of-form keeper Sheldon Jackson and spinner Varun Chakravarthy. In their next match against Rajasthan, KKR may field Mohammed Nabi, Abhijeet Tomar, or Anukul Roy as they have been warming the bench.

Aaron Finch

Kolkata Knight Riders signed Aaron Finch as a replacement for England batter Alex Hales for the IPL 2022. Aaron Finch is Australia’s maiden ICC T20 World Cup-winning captain in 2021. Aaron Finch, who has played more than 80 IPL games and has over 2000 IPL runs, joined KKR at the price of INR 1.5 crore.

When it comes to IPL, Aaron Finch is no stranger having played for eight other franchises since his IPL debut in 2010. He debuted for KKR against Hyderabad but scored only 7 runs. He though scored 58 in 28 balls against Rajasthan in a losing cause. He has scored 68 runs so far in 3 innings in IPL 2022. He may be replaced by uncapped Abhijeet Tomar or experienced Ajinkya Rahane if KKR wants to play Mohammed Nabi to bolster their bowling resources.

Venkatesh Iyer

The all-around option which Venkatesh Iyer brings to the team is indispensable. Venkatesh Iyer would want to produce a repeat of his heroics last year. Venkatesh Iyer, who opened for Kolkata Knight Riders last time and is a medium pacer had a sensational run in the UAE leg of IPL 2021 by amassing 370 runs in just 10 games averaging 41.11 with 4 fifties.

He returned to form against Mumbai in IPL 2022, with his unbeaten 50 crucial in the team’s victory. He has scored 132 runs so far in 9 IPL 2022 games averaging a dismal 16.5 but couldn’t replicate the previous season’s form. He may be replaced by Abhijeet Tomar or Ajinkya Rahane.

Nitish Rana

Nitish Rana

Nitish Rana was brought for 8 crores by his previous team and Kolkata Knight Riders would expect the left-handed batter to prove his worth before it gets late. Nitish Rana could do some real damage to the opposition. He has amassed 200 runs in 9 IPL 2022 games averaging 22.22 including 2 fifties.

The left-handed batter had a prolific start to the previous IPL season but lost his way in the middle to end up with 383 runs in 16 innings at an average of 29.46 with two half-centuries. He may also open as KKR is struggling to find the correct opening combinations.

Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer has been acquired by Kolkata Knight Riders in the recently-conducted 2022 IPL auction for a whopping sum of Rs 12.25 crore. He has scored 290 runs so far in 9 IPL 2022 games averaging 36.25 including 2 fifties and is the franchise’s leading run-getter so far this season.

Shreyas Iyer aggregated 204 runs without being dismissed across three innings against Sri Lanka in recently concluded T20Is at a highly impressive strike rate of 174.36. He registered scores of 57*(28), 74*(44), and 73*(45) across three games.

Andre Russell

Andre Russell

‘Muscle’ Andre Russell has been a match-winner for Kolkata Knight Riders over the years and won games single-handedly. Andre Russell is off late struggling with hamstring and knee injuries. Andre Russell scored 183 runs and picked up 11 wickets in IPL 2021. In the last two seasons, Andre Russell’s performance has been below par.

He has scored 227 runs so far in 8 IPL 2022 games averaging 37.83 including an unbeaten 70 in a match-winning innings against Punjab and is KKR’s 2nd leading run-getter and 2nd leading wicket-taker so far this season. He has also picked 10 scalps in 9 games averaging 16.7 with a best of 5/4. His strike rate with the bat is 175.96 this season.

Baba Indrajith (wk)

Baba Indrajith has been a prolific run-scorer for Tamil Nadu over the years and was one of the spines of Tamil Nadu’s middle-order after veteran S Badrinath moved out of the state in 2014. In 2022 he hit a green patch scoring runs at will in the Ranji Trophy and showcasing his wide array of shots that has impressed many. His twin identical brother Baba Aparajith is a cricketer too.

He made his IPL debut against Delhi in the previous game and scored 6 runs off 8 balls. Besides batting, he is a keeper too who can open and hence may be an option to replace out-of-form keeper Sheldon Jackson. Abhijeet Tomar is also an option for the opening slot.

Tim Southee

Tim Southee may hold his spot after replacing Aussie pacer Pat Cummins who scored the joint-fastest fifty in IPL history against Mumbai but has been ineffective and too expensive with the ball. One of the best swing ball bowlers in the world Tim Southee was bought in by Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2022 at the auction for 1.5 CR.

Tim Southee has played 4 matches in IPL 2022 and picked up 8 wickets averaging a mere 13.87 at an economy rate of 6.93. He will be preferred ahead of Pat Cummins who has picked only 4 scalps in 4 games averaging a high 47.5 at a steep economy rate of 12 runs per over.

Sunil Narine

Even after all these years, Sunil Narine remains one of the toughest bowlers to face in the IPL. He isn’t as mysterious as he once was but Sunil Narine is still outfoxing batters. Sunil Narine has picked up 16 wickets and scored 62 runs in IPL 2021. He is on the list of top 10 wicket-takers in IPL history.

Since 2014, he has played for Kolkata Knight Riders. He has picked 7 scalps in 9 games in IPL 2022 so far averaging 27.28 and has been extremely economical-5.3 runs per over. He has scored only 27 runs in 6 innings averaging a pathetic 4.5 with the bat but KKR may promote him again as an opener or use him as a pinch hitter in the middle overs.

Umesh Yadav

KKR managed to lift the IPL title when Umesh Yadav was a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders squad during the 2014 edition. He has picked 14 scalps in 9 IPL 2022 games so far averaging a mere 18.71 and is KKR’s leading wicket-taker this season. His best is 23/4. He has also scored 55 runs.

Umesh Yadav became only the fourth bowler after Brett Lee, Chaminda Vaas and Iqbal Abdullah picked up a wicket in the first over of a fresh season of the IPL. Umesh Yadav finished with 2/20 against CSK in an economical spell in the 1st IPL 2022 match.

Shivam Mavi

Shivam Mavi

Shivam Mavi made his IPL debut for KKR in 2018 but picked up just 5 wickets. A stress fracture in his back ruled him out of playing competitive cricket since December 2019 and after spending most of his time in rehab, Shivam Mavi was fit and raring to go in the 2020 edition.

He played in 8 games and picked up 9 wickets in the 2020 IPL season and in the 2021 edition, he picked 11 wickets that included a 4-wicket haul against Rajasthan Royals. KKR has had immense faith in Shivam Mavi over the years and was brought back for a whopping INR 7.25 crore.

He picked 3 scalps in 4 IPL 2022 matches averaging 48 and has an economy rate of 10.28, but may play for the lack of bowling resources of Kolkata Knight Riders. He didn’t play the previous game as Harshit Rana was preferred instead. Harshit Rana though did reasonably well picking 1/24 bowling 3 overs.

Anukul Roy

With Krunal Pandya being the senior left-arm spinner in the side, Anukul Roy had to wait for his turn but he did make his IPL debut in 2019 for Mumbai Indians and picked up one wicket from the only game that he played.

Although he didn’t get a game in the 13th edition of the tournament, he significantly made it count as a substitute fielder, picking crucial catches at crucial points of time for the Mumbai Indians. He was roped in by Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2022 IPL Auction. He is in line to replace Varun Chakravarthy.

Varun Chakravarthy has picked only 4 scalps in 8 games at an average of 61.75 unlike the previous two seasons, where he picked a combined 38 wickets in 28 matches averaging below 25 on both occasions.
