LSG Scores 176/7 In Their First Innings

LSG got to a disastrous start as KL got run out without facing a ball but then Deepak Hooda and Quinton de Kock added 71 runs in quick time. But de Kock got out soon after completing his fifty. Hooda and Krunal Pandya then added some runs in the middle before Hooda got out. After Hooda’s wicket, the LSG scoring rate came down. Krunal Pandya managed just 25 runs off 27 balls and Ayush Badoni scored just 15 off 18 balls.

These two knocks helped KKR pull things back as at one time it looked like LSG would score a minimum 190. Stoinis in the end tried his best as he hit Mavi for three sixes towards the smaller boundary.

The first six were hit towards deep square leg, the 2nd over dip mid-wicket and the third one too in the same region. On the next delivery though, Stonis tried to smoke the ball in the same direction but this time he couldn’t clear Shreyas Iyer.

Stonis got out for 28 off 14 deliveries. Shivam Mavi was hit for 6 fours in an over by Prithvi Shaw in one of the earlier seasons. Mavi’s figures at the end of the innings were 4 overs, 50 runs, and 1 wicket. Mavi has been in and out of the team this season and that does not seem to help his confidence.
