Royal Challengers Bangalore director of cricket operations, Mike Hesson, didn’t hesitate in praising the likes of Glenn Maxwell and Shahbaz Ahmed with regard to their contribution to the bowling department.

Apart from being as impressive as ever with the bat, Maxwell’s impact has been felt with the ball, especially in the powerplay. Not only has he taken wickets, but he has also ensured the batters don’t get off to a good start.

I think Maxwell has been very impressive. He had to bowl in the powerplay, had to bowl tough overs, gone at 7 per over. He’s shown his experience, just made it easy for Shahbaz to do his job and they have combined very nicely from the bowling point of view.”

Shahbaz for me has got more and more comfortable over the last two years. Those important cameos he has played with the bat and the ball have been very important for us,” Hesson was quoted as saying.

“He creates pressure, takes wickets and loves the death overs” – Mike Hesson on Harshal

Wanindu Hasaranga has taken the most wickets for RCB this time around which meant that Harshal has had to fly under the radar more often than not. Nevertheless, the pacer likes the responsibility of bowling in the death, which is his assignment in all the matches.

Harshal has done what we know he can do. He creates pressure, takes wickets, and loves the death overs. Not many people put their hands up and say that they want to do that job,” Hesson further mentioned.
