Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik said Rajat Patidar played the best innings by an uncapped player in the IPL.
Patidar scored a scintillating unbeaten 112 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Eliminator game at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday.

Rajat Patidar scored 112* as RCB thump LSG by 14 runs in Eliminator
Patidar hammered 12 fours and seven sixes, striking at 207.41, in his maiden T20 hundred that propelled RCB to 207/4 and eventually won by 14 runs.
On a day when big names like Faf du Plessis (0), Virat Kohli (25) and Glenn Maxwell (9) failed to contribute in the knockout game, Patidar continued the assault on LSG bowlers.
Patidar targeted LSG spin bowlers Krunal Pandya and Ravi Bishnoi during his crackling knock. He slammed three fours and a six off Krunal as RCB’s score read 52/1 in the powerplay overs.
The real fun began when Patidar hit Bishnoi for 26 (three sixes and two fours) off just five balls in the 16th over.
Rajat Patidar is a shy personality: Dinesh Karthik
Patidar forged an unseparated 92-run stand with Karthik as RCB added 84 runs in the last five overs to power RCB to 207/4.
“Probably the best innings by an uncapped player that I have ever seen. Just outstanding. He’s very cool, very calm, very shy personality actually, very quiet person,” Karthik said in a video uploaded on RCB’s YoutTube channel.

“You get the feeling that he is lazy, but it is just his personality. I think he is a lovely guy who is hardworking, but with a very shy personality,” he added.
Karthik also played another thrilling cameo with the willow, scoring 37 off 23 balls with five boundaries and a six. He pummelled Avesh Khan for three boundaries in a row.
The RCB gloveman hit Dushmantha Chameera for a six and a four before Patidar repeated the same off the Sri Lankan pacer in the penultimate over.
RCB will play Rajasthan Royals in the Qualifier 2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
