Lucknow Supergiants vs Gujarat Titans, GT Playing 11 vs LSG (Predicted), IPL 2022, Match 57, LSG vs GT. Match no 57 of Tata IPL 2022 will be a top-of-the-table clash between Lucknow Supergiants and Gujarat Titans. The match will take place at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Tuesday 10th May night (7:30 pm).

Both teams have had a remarkable debut in the Tata IPL and with the season reaching its business end, both teams will give their all to remain among the top two at the end of the league stage.

Lucknow Supergiants are roaring and have managed to take the top spot on the points table. They will next face the other newbie of this season, i.e., the Gujarat Titans who will be heading into this fixture on the back of two successive defeats.

Gujarat Titans made a mess of their run chase against Mumbai Indians the other night. Gujarat Titans now need to regroup and focus on their next game which is against the new table-toppers Lucknow Super Giants.

Lucknow Supergiants and Gujarat Titans squared off in Match 4 of the ongoing IPL 2022 and it was the Gujarat Titans who toppled Lucknow Supergiants quite comprehensively by 5 wickets. Mohammad Shami starred with the ball and scalped three wickets before the Titans batters made valuable contributions at the death and held their nerves in a tricky run-chase.  Rahul Tewatia’s unbeaten 40 and Hardik Pandya’s 33 ensured that Deepak Hooda’s 55 and Ayush Badoni’s 54 went in vain.

Mohammed Shami (3/25) bowled a sizzling opening spell as he rocked the Titans’ top-order and reduce Lucknow to 20/3 in 3.3 overs. But Deepak Hooda (55 off 41) and Ayush Badoni (54 off 41) pulled the Lucknow side out of the woods with a fiery partnership.

Hammering an 87-off 68-ball partnership, Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni smashed half-centuries to guide Lucknow past the 150-run mark.

In an edge-of-the-seat contest, Abhinav Manohar (15 off 7) and Rahul Tewatia (40 off 24) held their nerves to hand the Titans a winning start. Chasing a respectable 159, Rahul Tewatia and David Miller (30) rose to the occasion to guide Titans to a five-wicket win over Super Giants.

Gujarat Titans haven’t done anything wrong in their last two games but somehow they haven’t been able to finish off games. Hardik Pandya the skipper has been good but Hardik Pandya the batter hasn’t been at his best in the last two games. The skipper needs to put some money on his wicket and anchor the innings, especially in the middle overs as GT’s middle order lacks experience.

Pradeep Sangwan has been good in the three games he has featured so far. However, Yash Dayal was quite impressive for GT this season. He was among the wickets in almost every game and if he is fit, GT should bring him back for Pradeep Sangwan. Abhinav Manohar might return to the eleven for Sai Sudharsan who’s strike-rate is definitely on the lower side.

Gujarat Titans may field an unchanged XI in the match against Lucknow, but once they are officially qualified for playoffs, they may tinker with their combination as the likes of Sai Kishore, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Dominic Drakes, Jayant Yadav are warming the bench and are yet to play a single IPL 2022 match.

Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill who has played 10 Tests and 3 ODI matches for India, will be eager to leave his mark in IPL 2022, as a good outing in the IPL can open doors for the Indian team as well. He was a regular starter for Kolkata Knight Riders since IPL 2018 and his role with Gujarat Titans will be to provide a good start to the team.

Shubman Gill remains one of the most promising openers in the league. He has scored 321 runs in 11 IPL 2022 games averaging 29.18 at an impressive strike rate of 138.96. However, he hasn’t fired in the last few games after almost hitting back-to-back tons. He scored 52 against MI in the last match but it went in vain.

Wriddhiman Saha, the Test discard, has scored 209 runs from 6 IPL 2022 games averaging 34.83. He replaced Matthew Wade, who has scored only 68 runs averaging only 13.6 in 5 games. Rahmatullah Gurbaz is another opening keeper option. Wriddhiman Saha top-scored with 68 runs against SRH. He scored another fifty- 55 off 40 against Mumbai Indians but it went in vain.

David Miller

David Miller was bought by Rajasthan Royals ahead of IPL 2020. Despite playing just one game in the IPL 2020, the franchise retained him for the IPL 2021, keeping in mind his ability to single-handedly change the course of the match.

In IPL 2022, he scored 306 runs with the highest of unbeaten 94 in the match against CSK averaging an impressive 61.2 playing for Gujarat Titans. He is Gujarat’s 3rd highest scorer.

Sai Sudarshan

Sai Sudharsan has scored 145 runs in 5 IPL 2022 games averaging 36.25 after replacing Abhinav Manohar who had scored 108 runs in 7 innings averaging a mere 18. Upcoming top-order batter Sai Sudharsan was acquired by Gujarat Titans for his base price of INR 20 lakh. He scored an unbeaten 65 against Punjab in a losing cause. But his strike rate of 127.19 is under the scanner.

Southpaw Sai Sudharsan burst onto the scene in the local domestic T20 league in Chennai with his nonchalant batting amassing 358 runs in eight matches at a healthy strike rate of 143.8. A member of the Tamil Nadu senior squad across formats now, Sai Sudharsan has been truly impressive so much so that he was invited for selection by as many as six IPL franchises.

Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya has only played for the Mumbai Indians franchise in the IPL before Gujarat. He has scored 1476 runs for MI in IPL so far at an average of 27.33 and picked 42 wickets averaging 31.26. Also, he didn’t bowl a single over in the last two seasons of IPL for Mumbai Indians.

He has scored 333 runs in IPL 2022 averaging 41.63 and taken 4 scalps averaging 35 playing 10 games. As a first-time skipper, he was spot on with his tactics and field placements. He is Gujarat’s leading run-getter this season despite playing one match less.

Rahul Tewatia

Rahul Tewatia made his IPL debut in 2014. Rahul Tewatia, who shot to IPL fame with a magical 31-ball 53 in a historic chase against Punjab in IPL 2020, has been sold for more than 20 times his base price of Rs 40 lakh at the mega IPL 2022 auction in Bengaluru.

He has scored 193 runs so far in 11 IPL 2022 games averaging 32.17 with a best of unbeaten 43. He had hit two sixes in the last two balls of the last 20th over when Gujarat needed 12 to win against Punjab. He helped Gujarat to win from close situations in IPL 2022.

The 25-year-old tall and lanky fast bowler, West Indies Alzarri Joseph was bought by the Gujarat Titans for INR 2.40 crore at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. From what started at INR 75 lakhs at his base price, thanks to MI, DC, PBKS, and GT, it soared high to INR 2.40 crore for Alzarri Joseph.

Earlier, the pacer made his IPL debut in 2019 for Mumbai Indians and got figures of 6/12, the best bowling figures for a debutant. He also became only the second player to take a five-wicket haul on an IPL debut, after Andrew Tye. He had picked 6 scalps in as many IPL 2022 games averaging 34.66.

Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan, who picked up 18 wickets in 14 matches in the last edition, has consistently turned heads with his bowling exploits in the IPL. Maintaining a good economy of 6.69, he was the seventh-best bowler in the Purple Cap standings last season. The Gujarat Titans had to shell ₹15 crores to acquire the services of Rashid Khan in the pre-draft after he parted ways with Sunrisers Hyderabad.

He has picked up 11 scalps in as many games averaging 27.36 at an economy rate of 6.84. His cameo of 40 against CSK ensured a win for Gujarat Titans in the match where he captained in absence of injured Hardik Pandya. He has scored 72 runs in 7 innings averaging 18.

Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami garnered a lot of attention at the IPL 2022 mega auction before eventually going to Gujarat Titans (GT) for a winning bid of INR 6.25 crores. Many experts still do not consider Mohammed Shami as a specialist bowler in the shortest T20I format, and his economy rate of 9.54 in T20Is explains the logic behind the dislike.

The veteran pacer has picked 15 scalps so far in 11 games in IPL 2022 averaging only 24.33 including 3/25 against fellow debutants Lucknow Supergiants. He is Gujarat Titans’ leading wicket-taker so far ahead of Lockie Ferguson who has 12 scalps.

The 30-year-old Kiwi pace merchant Lockie Ferguson was one of the richest buys in the 2022 player mega auction that took place in Bengaluru. The Gujarat Titans splashed out Rs 10 crore to acquire the services of Lockie Ferguson, who took 13 wickets in eight matches for Kolkata Knight Riders last season.

He picked 4/28 against Delhi Capitals in a match-winning effort. He has picked 12 scalps in 11 IPL 2022 games averaging 32.

A seasoned left-arm pacer from Delhi, Pradeep Sangwan was bought by the Gujarat Titans for his base price of INR 20 lakhs. Pradeep Sangwan has represented four IPL teams in the past and played 28 games for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in the first three seasons for them.

He last played in an IPL match in 2018 before the IPL 2022 match against RCB, where he picked 2/19 and had the team’s best bowling figures. He has picked up 3 scalps in as many games averaging 21.66 with the ball. He may be replaced by Yash Dayal if he’s fit. Yash Dayal has 7 scalps in 4 IPL 2022 games averaging 20.85.
