Lucknow Supergiants vs Mumbai Indians Match Preview, IPL 2022, Match 37, LSG vs MI- The bottom-placed Mumbai Indians will now face Lucknow Supergiants in match no 37 of Tata IPL 2022 at their home ground, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 24th April at 7:30 pm.
Wankhede has been a fortress for Mumbai Indians over the years and they would love to secure at least a win at their fortress to put a smile on the faces of their home crowd.
The 5-times champions Mumbai Indians become the first team to take the exit route in Tata IPL 2022. 7 losses from 7 matches have been the story for Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai this year and it looks like they will remain robust at the bottom spot throughout the season.
Rohit Sharma has been a complete failure with the bat this season. The same goes for West Indies batter Kieron Pollard who recently announced his retirement from international cricket, and this year he has been completely out of nick for MI.
Pacer Jasprit Bumrah is struggling to get wickets. The Indian pacer was exceptional in the last two seasons in the UAE, but he has surely lost the art of picking wickets this season. The MI team management and the think tank have a lot to ponder and it would be interesting to see what combination they would opt for in this game.
Lucknow Supergiants have won four out of the seven games in the tournament and defeated Mumbai Indians earlier. Lucknow Supergiants also come to this match with a loss as they failed to cross the finishing line against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Mumbai Indians failed to defend 17 runs in the last over against CSK and the side would need shots of confidence. The Lucknow Supergiants had defeated Mumbai earlier and they would be aiming to exploit Mumbai’s lack of form and confidence and improve their position on the points table.

Changes aplenty are expected for Mumbai Indians. Pacer Jaydev Unadkat is expected to sit out after he went through an onslaught from MS Dhoni in the last over against CSK. All-rounder Kieron Pollard has been given many chances.
Although he is a marquee player for MI, Tim David might replace him in the eleven. Arjun Tendulkar or Basil Thampi may come in for Jaydev Unadkat and Tim David for Kieron Pollard which are the changes expected in MI Playing 11 against Lucknow Supergiants.
Rohit Sharma needs to justify his selection in the side and a good start would be needed from him and Ishan Kishan. Middle-order batters Dewald Brevis, Tilak Varma, and Suryakumar Yadav have made runs, but more contribution would be needed from them. Kieron Pollard and Daniel Sams must do well in the lower middle order which has been one of the problems for the side.
Jasprit Bumrah and Daniel Sams are the best new-ball pair for the side, and it was a smart move to see them bowl together in the last game against CSK. Hrithik Shokeen, who played his debut game against CSK scored 25 from as many balls.
Pacer Riley Meredith also did well by picking 1/25 and Daniel Sams was the pick of the bowlers by picking 4/30. The side would need to make good use of their form. Arjun Tendulkar might play this game replacing Jaydev Unadkat who threw away the game against CSK.
Lucknow’s openers Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul have been top performers for the side, and they have a key role to play in this game. Lucknow Supergiants would expect the trio of Krunal Pandya, Deepak Hooda, and Ayush Badoni to add vital runs in the middle order. In Marcus Stoinis, Jason Holder, and Dushmantha Chameera the side has good firepower to follow with the bat.
Avesh Khan has been a performer for the side with the new ball and he would look to exploit Mumbai’s weakness at the top along with Dushmantha Chameera. Jason Holder and Marcus Stoinis are also crucial for the middle overs. The side would also like to see its spinners Krunal Pandya and Ravi Bishnoi will need to work their magic in this game and win it for the side.
