Former Indian player Ajay Jadeja said Mumbai Indians should allow Arjun Tendulkar to make his IPL debut against Delhi Capitals on Saturday (May 21).

Mumbai Indians would wish to omit the IPL 2022 season chapter from their history in the lucrative tournament as they suffered 10 losses in 13 games and are placed at the foot of the table.

Mumbai Indians have played 22 players in IPL 2022

Many experts believe the five-time IPL champions lost the tournament because of their poor choices in the auction.

The Rohit Sharma-led team failed to find its best combination this year and senior players like Kieron Pollard, Ishan Kishan, and Jasprit Bumrah didn’t match their standards.

Mumbai Indians have played a total of 22 players and only Jr Tendulkar, all-rounder Rahul Buddhi and wicketkeeper-batter Aryan Juyal are yet to find a game this season.

MI vs DC: We will get glimpses of how much Arjun Tendulkar has developed: Ajay Jadeja

Jadeja said MI should give all three youngsters a fair chance to play against Delhi Capitals and rest some of their core players. The former Indian player singled out Tendulkar’s selection to test his skills.

MI have a chance of creating a record, where everyone from the squad has got a game. Mumbai have tried all the other players. I have a feeling Arjun Tendulkar will play. That way, at least we will get glimpses of how much he has developed. I hope the three youngsters who haven’t got a game play in this match,” Jadeja told Cricbuzz.

“They can rest some of the players and give these youngsters a chance. MI, anyways, need to start on a blank slate for next season,” he added.

If Mumbai Indians manage to outsmart Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede stadium then they will do a big favour on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

RCB is currently placed at fourth place on the points table with 16 points in 14 matches.

Delhi Capitals bagged 14 points with seven wins in 13 games, if Rishabh Pant and his men defeat MI then they secure the final berth in the IPL 2022 playoffs owing to better NRR than RCB.
