Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder Kieron Pollard was involved in another misunderstanding against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Wednesday.
Tilak Varma was earlier run-out after a poor decision to run with Suryakumar Yadav on the other side. If that didn’t sum up MI’s season so far, their misery was further compounded by another poor call.
The incident occurred in the 17th over bowled by Vaibhav Arora. Pollard had just smashed the ball down to long-on and taken off for a single. Odean Smith at long-on ended up fumbling the ball, leading to a call for the second run.
However, Pollard turned it down initially before acknowledging Suryakumar’s call, who was halfway down the track. They both hesitated in the middle before the throw at the wicket-keeper’s end saw Pollard well short of the crease.
