Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings in their previous match of IPL 2022. CSK batted first in the match and faced a miserable batting collapse. With MS Dhoni scoring the most 36 runs, the team crashed at just 97 runs on the scoreboard.

For MI, Daniel Sams scalped 3 wickets while Riley Meredith and Kumar Kartikeya grabbed 2 wickets. Later, with an unbeaten 34 by Tilak Varma, Mumbai Indians managed to win the match by 5 wickets in the end. They lost a few quick wickets at the start but later managed to score the winning runs quite comfortably.

Sunrisers Hyderabad lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in their previous match. Batting first, KKR posted 177-6. Andre Russell slammed a marvelous knock of unbeaten 49 of 28 balls while Sam Billings scored a crucial 34. For SRH, Umran Malik scalped 3 wickets to give a big blow to KKR at the start.

During the chase, SRH lost opener Kane Williamson and Rahul Tripathi cheaply for 9 runs each. Abhishek Sharma scored 43 runs while Aiden Markram scored 32. However, KKR managed to claim wickets at regular intervals and devoided SRH of any chance of victory. SRH ended with 123-8 on the board and lost by 54 runs.
