Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals Head To Head Records.

Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals Head To Head Records, IPL 2022, Match 64, PBKS vs DC. Punjab Kings will play against Delhi Capitals on 16th May 2022 at 7:30 pm in Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai, India in the 64th match of the ongoing IPL 2022. Delhi Capitals have defeated PBKS five times in the last seven games including one earlier this season.

DC opener David Warner has scored 427 runs for the Delhi Capitals in just 10 games, and he is winning games for the side. PBKS’ middle order has been inconsistent, and the side has paid a heavy price for its lack of consistency.

The 64th IPL 2022 game would see the Punjab Kings take on the Delhi Capitals in what is a very important game for both teams. They come having won their previous games. While Delhi Capitals defeated the Rajasthan Royals, the Punjab Kings came up with a brilliant performance against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Punjab Kings’ skipper Mayank Agarwal’s side has kept its hopes alive for a berth in the next round after their 54-run win against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Their batsmen put up a grand show in the last game. However, a loss here would end all their hopes of making it to the playoffs. Mayank Agarwal would expect a determined effort from his players as they fight for their place in the tournament.

Punjab Kings opener Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow make a formidable opening pair and they would look to set up a good partnership. The middle-order has been inconsistent through the side would be happy to have Liam Livingstone back in form. He must combine with Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Mayank Agarwal. Jitesh Sharma, Harpreet Brar, and Rishi Dhawan add to the side’s depth, and they will have to live by the challenge.

Arshdeep Singh has looked good, and he will look to bowl tight spells with Harpreet Brar sharing the new ball. Kagiso Rabada has shown his class in the last few games, and he must deliver for the side to win. Rahul Chahar has looked ordinary and has allowed batsmen to score easy runs. He will have an important role in the middle overs along with Rishi Dhawan.

For Punjab Kings, Harpreet Brar who was brought in for Sandeep Sharma will be keeping his place in the eleven as he scalped an important wicket of Glenn Maxwell. The team looks settled and changes aren’t expected at all.

Delhi Capitals registered an 8-wicket win against the Rajasthan Royals in the last game to move up to the 5th place on the points table. It was a good display with the bat from the side. They had defeated the Punjab Kings earlier in the season and shall take confidence from that. However, the side hasn’t won two consecutive games so far this year and they would look to avoid that here.

Srikar Bharat must do well in this game, and he has to support David Warner by opening the batting with David Warner looking in great touch. All-rounder Mitchell Marsh put his poor form behind him to play a match-winning knock against Rajasthan and this would add to his confidence. Rishabh Pant and Lalit Yadav add to the side’s strength in the middle order, and they have good hitters to follow in Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur.

Pacer Anrich Nortje must find his form and bowl well at the start of the game with Chetan Sakariya who comes here after a good show. Kuldeep Yadav has been consistent with his form and the side would expect him to trouble Punjab’s strong batting line-up. Mitchell Marsh, Axar Patel, and Shardul Thakur shall have important roles to play as their opponents have shown good form with the bat.

Opener Prithvi Shaw has missed the last three fixtures for Delhi Capitals. He is likely to be available for the next game for his side after recovering from typhoid which required hospitalization and kept him away from the squad as well. The right-hander had an excellent start to the season with 259 runs in nine games but had to miss out on the last three fixtures due to his illness.

The Delhi Capitals players spent the last four days inside their hotel rooms, unsure if they would get to play this match. They even had a change of venues to facilitate the match. However, Punjab Kings’ wickets kept falling – two each to Lalit Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Khaleel Ahmed – on what Axar Patel called a sticky surface, although it didn’t look too sticky when the Delhi Capitals batters ended the chase in a hurry.

Brief ScoresDelhi Capitals 119/1 (David Warner 60*, Prithvi Shaw 41; Rahul Chahar 1-21) beat Punjab Kings 115 (Jitesh Sharma 32, Mayank Agarwal 24; Axar Patel 2-10) by 9 wickets.
