Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings, RR Playing 11 vs CSK (Predicted), IPL 2022, Match 68, RR vs CSK. Chennai Super Kings would look to bow out with their heads high as they take on the Rajasthan Royals in the 68th game of the Indian Premier League 2022 on 20th May 2022 at 7:30 in Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.

The defending IPL 2021 champions have had a nightmarish season and come here with a big loss against the Gujarat Titans in their last game. Rajasthan on the other hand defeated the Lucknow Super Giants in the last game and has moved to the 2nd place on the points table.

Rajasthan Royals batsmen Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson have made close to 1000 runs between them this season. CSK has failed to do well as a unit and has won just 4 out of the 13 games the side has played this season. Rajasthan Royals spin bowler Yuzvendra Chahal is the leading wicket-taker this season and has already grabbed 24 wickets.

Rajasthan Royals opener Jos Buttler has been the best batsman in the tournament, and he would look to set up a good opening wicket stand with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Sanju Samson has stood like a rock in the middle order, and he would look to anchor the innings with Devdutt Padikkal and Riyan Parag. James Neesham and Ravichandran Ashwin can strike the ball hard and they would look for the boundaries in the final overs.

Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna did well with the new ball in the last game and this is good news for the team as they had struggled previously. Yuzvendra Chahal has been a tough nut to crack for the batsmen and the side would like to see him excel in this game. Obed McCoy did well on his return to the side and he would look to check the flow of runs in the middle overs along with Ravichandran Ashwin who brings lots of experience to this attack.

The return of Shimron Hetmyer will further boost their chances of beating Chennai. Shimron Hetmyer, who became a father for the first time recently, is back in the Rajasthan Royals bubble and is set to replace Jimmy Neesham in the fixture against Chennai Super Kings. Shimron Hetmyer missed RR’s games against Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants.

Jos Buttler was one of the expected retentions for the Rajasthan Royals for INR 10 Crores and he brings a lot of value to the side in terms of winning games for the franchise. Jos Buttler has the ability to win matches on his own and he scored 254 runs in seven IPL games last year at a strike rate of 153 which speaks volumes of his ability.

He has scored the first ton of IPL 2022 and is currently the leading run-scorer (Orange Cap holder) with 627 runs in 13 games averaging 52.25. He has scored as many as 3 tons and 3 fifties in IPL 2022 and is in the form of his life. However, in the last 2 to 3 games, his bat has been surprisingly silent.

In the 2021 season, Yashasvi Jaiswal had an impressive S/R scoring 249 runs in 10 games from the 168 balls that he faced. He even got his maiden 50 in the previous season and will look to build on that in 2022. Rajasthan Royals retained their skipper Sanju Samson, England’s swashbuckling player Jos Buttler, and youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal ahead of IPL 2022 auction.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has scored 153 runs in 6 IPL 2022 games averaging 25.5 but he top-scored with 68 against Punjab Kings which should give him much-needed confidence. He also won the MOM. His 68 came off only 41 balls including 9 fours and 2 sixes. His strike rate was 165.85.

The 25-year-old scored 242 runs in 14 IPL 2021 games last year for Delhi Capitals at an average of 34 and it was the strike rate of 168 that created a lot of damage to the opponents. Shimron Hetmyer has been struggling with fitness concerns of late. He became a father for the first time recently and missed RR’s games against Delhi and Lucknow.

He has scored 291 runs in the 11 IPL 2022 games with a best of unbeaten 59 averaging an impressive 72.75 at a stunning strike rate of 166.28. He is RR’s 4th highest run-getter this season.
