Rajasthan Royals vs Delhi Capitals Head To Head Records, IPL 2022, Match 58, RR vs DC. Delhi Capitals face a massive challenge in the 58th game of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2022 on 11th May 2022 at 7:30 pm in Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai, India.

They come here with a big defeat against the Chennai Super Kings and must win this game to keep their hopes for a playoff berth alive. The Rajasthan Royals on the other hand did well to win the last game against the Punjab Kings.

Delhi Capitals have been inconsistent, and their bowling attack has been a major concern for the side. Their new ball attack has looked ineffective, and the side can least afford so against the strong batting line-up that the Rajasthan Royals have. Playing under pressure the Delhi Capitals would have to rise to the occasion in their most important game of the season.

RR opener Jos Buttler has 618 runs under his belt this season and he adds a spark to the side’s batting line-up. Delhi Capitals bowlers have been in poor form and have conceded an average of 200 runs in the last four games. RR spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has picked up 22 wickets and is the leading wicket-taker this season.

Sanju Samson’s side registered a comprehensive 6-wicket win against the Punjab Kings in their last game. With this win, the side has strengthened its position on the IPL 2022 points table. They chased down a huge score clinically in the end. RR skipper Sanju Samson would like his bowlers to get their lines right against a very strong batting line-up of Delhi Capitals. A win here would assure them of a berth in the next round and Sanju Samson would like to secure that in this league match.

Rajasthan Royals opener Jos Buttler has been in terrific form, and he would look to set up a good opening wicket partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal in this game. Sanju Samson steadies the middle order and he would be aiming for partnerships in this game. Rajasthan Royals don’t have great firepower down the order and the team would need all-rounders Riyan Parag and Ravichandran Ashwin to deliver to the best of their abilities.

It is high time the side needs good spells with the new ball from pacers Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna who aren’t in the best of form. Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been the best bowler for the side and the side would like him to stop the flow of runs in the middle overs with pacer Kuldeep Sen and off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin as the Delhi Capitals do have a very strong batting line-up.

Rajasthan Royals’ star batter Shimron Hetmyer has left the camp to travel back to Guyana to attend the birth of his first child. He will be going through a three-day quarantine period after his arrival to India and as a result, is likely to miss RR’s next contest against the Delhi Capitals set to be played on May 11.

The Caribbean finisher has scored 291 runs in the 11 games played so far at an average of 72.75. Of these 11 games, he has remained unbeaten on seven occasions. His strike rate of 214.28 in the death overs is massive as he has proved to be one of the most destructive finishers this season. Rassie van der Dussen, Daryl Mitchell, or James Neesham may replace him in the Rajasthan Royals playing XI.

Daryl Mitchell scored 16(24) against RCB, and managed to put on 17 runs in 20 balls against MI. Rassie van der Dussen made his debut against the Lucknow Super Giants and managed to score only 4(4). He was then continued for the clash against the Gujarat Titans where he scored a 10-ball six runs. Apart from scoring 17 runs in the game against Gujarat Titans, James Neesham also bowled a three-over spell giving away 29 runs without picking any wickets.

Rishabh Pant’s side finds itself in a spot of bother after their 91-run loss against the Chennai Super Kings in the last game. They must win this game to keep their hopes alive for a berth in the next round. Their bowling attack has struggled in most of the games the side has played, and Rishabh Pant would like them to rise to the challenge and restore confidence with a win in this game.

Opener Prithvi Shaw’s absence is a major problem for the team and the opening pair of David Warner and Srikar Bharat need to set up a strong platform at the top. Rishabh Pant, Mitchell Marsh, and Rovman Powell have been inconsistent adding to the side’s problems. The likes of all-rounders Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Lalit Yadav, and Ripal Patel will need to do the big-hitting down the order for the side to win.

Pace all-rounder Shardul Thakur has had a poor season and the side would need him to deliver the goods opening the bowling with left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed. Protea pacer Anrich Nortje must make good use of his pace in this game and keep the Royals’ batsmen under check. Spin all-rounder Axar Patel, chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav, and pace all-rounder Mitchell Marsh are experienced players and the side would have huge expectations from them.

Former Rajasthan skipper and batter Ajinkya Rahane has scored the most runs (611) in the matches between these sides in the IPL. He is followed by Rishabh Pant (344), Virender Sehwag (295), and Sanju Samson (280). Among the bowlers, Amit Mishra has picked up the most wickets (20), followed by Farveez Maharoof (11). Kagiso Rabada, Jaydev Unadkat, and Shane Watson have taken 9 wickets each.

In the previous IPL 2022 match between the two teams, RR opener Jos Buttler slammed his third century of the season and propelled RR to a mammoth total of 222/2. Devdutt Padikkal also scored 54.

Prasidh Krishna (3/22) bowled a brilliant wicket-maiden 19th over and Rajasthan Royals won by 15 runs despite Delhi’s Rishabh Pant’s 44 and Lalit Yadav’s 38. Jos Buttler’s 116 in that IPL 2022 match is the best individual score between these two sides. Ajinkya Rahane (105*) is the other player to score a ton in matches between these two sides.
