Rajasthan Royals- Team News- Nathan Coulter Nile Doubtful, Rassie Van Der Dussen May Replace Riyan Parag

Rajasthan Royals looked really good in the first two games but their visible weakness of a very short batting lineup will be under the spotlight against a stronger bowling lineup like RCB which is easily better than the previous two bowling attacks they faced in the tournament so far.

Rajasthan Royals played Nathan Coulter-Nile at #7 in their playing 11 in the first game which is the right move but the injury-prone Nathan Coulter-Nile has once again been injured and was ruled out of the 2nd game against Mumbai Indians.  They only played 3 overseas players in the XI in spite of having all their 8 overseas players in the squad against Mumbai Indians.

One wise option would be to play Rassie Van der Dussen ahead of either Devdutt Padikkal or Riyan Parag in their game against RCB which would make their top 6 even better and can hide their weak lower-order issues. The South African was bought for a base price and is a reliable player against pace bowling. This also allows Rajasthan Royals to promote Shimron Hetmyer depending on the situation and have Rassie Van der Dussen for the finisher’s role.

Rajasthan Royals Probable XI vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (c) (wk), Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmyer, Rassie van der Dussen, Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Navdeep Saini

Royal Challengers Bangalore- Team News- Australians Glenn Maxwell And Josh Hazlewood Still Unavailable, RCB May Field Unchanged XI

After having assembled an excellent side in the auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) started off their campaign on a disappointing note failing to defend an excess of 200 runs total against Punjab Kings in their season opener.

They are missing some of their first-choice players like Glenn Maxwell and Josh Hazlewood but came back strongly against KKR to bounce them out and win the 2nd game in a brilliant manner. They lost quite a lot of wickets in that game which they shouldn’t have.

One of their retained players in Glenn Maxwell has joined the squad but he won’t be available for the game as CA contracted players are available only from the 6th of April. RCB takes on RR on the 5th of April and hence Glenn Maxwell will not be available for selection. The Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood is yet to join the team and he would not be available for selection either.

RCB were in a spot of bother in the previous game against Kolkata Knight Riders when they lost early wickets in a tricky chase, but they maximized their resources by promoting David Willey and Shahbaz Ahmed ahead of Dinesh Karthik to play out the spinners from KKR which paid off big time.

Royal Challengers Bangalore Probable XI vs Rajasthan Royals: Faf du Plessis (c), Anuj Rawat, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Sherfane Rutherford, David Willey, Shahbaz Ahmed, Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep
