RCB vs GT: Gujarat Titans’ Predicted Playing XI Against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Gujarat Titans, GT Playing 11 vs RCB (Predicted), IPL 2022, Match 67, RCB vs GT. It is a do-or-die game for the Royal Challengers Bangalore as they take on the table-toppers already qualified Gujarat Titans 67th game of the Indian Premier League 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on 19th May night (7:30 pm).

Gujarat Titans are comfortably placed at the top of the points table and defeated Chennai Super Kings coming into this game.

The Gujarat Titans have won 10 out of the 13 games the side has played. They are the only team to have already qualified for the playoffs and hence the side wouldn’t feel any pressure in this contest.

The Royal Challengers had lost against the Gujarat Titans earlier by a big margin and this would be on their minds. With their backs against the wall, it remains to be seen if RCB has the spirit to defeat the strongest side in this tournament.

Gujarat Titans have been the team to watch in this tournament. Hardik Pandya has led the new franchise excellently and they are already through into the Qualifiers. Their bowlers did an excellent job in the last game and helped the side to a 7-wicket win against the Chennai Super Kings. This is the last league game for the side and Hardik Pandya would like his players to build momentum by winning this game ahead of the playoffs.

Gujarat Titans openers Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill have been star performers for the team, and they would aim to set up a good opening wicket stand. In the middle order team’s skipper, Hardik Pandya has done well and he would look to add runs with Matthew Wade.

Finishers David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, and Rashid Khan have played good knocks down the order, and this has brought the X-Factor to the side’s performance this season.

Pacer Mohammad Shami has been among the best bowlers this season and the side would like to see an impressive spell from him and Hardik Pandya with the new ball. Spinner Rashid Khan has made good use of his experience and troubled the best batsmen.

Alzarri Joseph played a good hand with the ball in the last game after poor performances in previous games. The side would also expect to see good efforts from pacer Yash Dayal and spinner Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore.

Gujarat Titans have already made the playoffs and they are certain of finishing the IPL 2022 league stage at the top. Gujarat Titans have been consistent throughout the season and would look to carry on with the same momentum.

However, the management might look to give rest to some of their top players including Mohammad Shami, Alzarri Joseph, and even skipper Hardik Pandya who has been struggling with his back.

The likes of Darshan Nalkande, Lockie Ferguson, and Vijay Shankar could come into the eleven if the management rests some of their top players. Rahmanullah Gurbaz may play in this game for Matthew Wade. Also, Rashid Khan might lead GT in the absence of Hardik Pandya.

Gujarat Titans may tinker with their combination as the likes of Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Dominic Drakes, Jayant Yadav, and Noor Ahmed are warming the bench and are yet to play a single IPL 2022 match.

The likes of Vijay Shankar, Varun Aaron, Abhinav Manohar, Darshan Nalkande, Lockie Ferguson, Pradeep Sangwan, and Sai Sudarshan can also be brought back as Gujarat Titans have already qualified for the playoffs.

Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill who has played 10 Tests and 3 ODI matches for India, will be eager to leave his mark in IPL 2022, as a good outing in the IPL can open doors for the Indian team as well. He was a regular starter for Kolkata Knight Riders since IPL 2018 and his role with Gujarat Titans will be to provide a good start to the team.

Shubman Gill remains one of the most promising openers in the league. He has scored 402 runs in 13 IPL 2022 games averaging 33.5 at an impressive strike rate of 135.35.  He is leading among Gujarat’s run-getters this season.

Wriddhiman Saha, the Test discard, has scored 281 runs from 8 IPL 2022 games averaging 40.14. Rahmanullah Gurbaz is another opening keeper option apart from him and Matthew Wade. Wriddhiman Saha top-scored with 68 runs against SRH.

He scored another fifty- 55 off 40 against Mumbai Indians but it went in vain. He scored an unbeaten 67 in the last match against CSK. He has scored 3 fifties -the highest being 68 this season and proved critics wrong who thought the 37-year-old’s career was over.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz will become the third Afghanistan player at Gujarat Titans who have signed the wicketkeeper-batter for IPL 2022 as a replacement for England opener Jason Roy. He will be the third Afghanistan player at the franchise alongside Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad.  He may be given a chance in place of Matthew Wade who has scored only 98 runs in 7 games averaging 14.

David Miller was bought by Rajasthan Royals ahead of IPL 2020. Despite playing just one game in the IPL 2020, the franchise retained him for the IPL 2021, keeping in mind his ability to single-handedly change the course of the match.

In 13 IPL 2022 games, he scored 347 runs with the highest of unbeaten 94 in the match against CSK averaging an impressive 57.83 playing for Gujarat Titans. He is Gujarat’s 3rd highest scorer.

He has scored 351 runs in IPL 2022 averaging 35.1 with a best of an unbeaten 87 and has taken 4 scalps averaging 39. As a first-time skipper, he has been spot on with his tactics and field placements. He is Gujarat’s 2nd leading run-getter this season.

Rashid Khan

Maintaining a good economy of 6.69, he was the seventh-best bowler in the Purple Cap standings last season. The Gujarat Titans had to shell ₹15 crores to acquire the services of Rashid Khan in the pre-draft after he parted ways with Sunrisers Hyderabad.

He has picked up 16 scalps in 13 games averaging 22.25 at an economy rate of 6.86. His cameo of 40 against CSK ensured a win for Gujarat Titans in the match where he captained in absence of injured Hardik Pandya. He has scored 72 runs in 7 innings averaging 18.
