Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Punjab Kings, RCB Playing 11 vs PBKS (Predicted), IPL 2022, Match 60, RCB vs PBKS. The Punjab Kings have their task cut out as they take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 60th game of the Indian Premier League 2022 on 13th May 2022 at 7:30 pm in Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai, India.

The Kings come here with a loss against the Rajasthan Royals where the bowling attack let them down. The Royal Challengers Bangalore are looking in good form after their comprehensive win against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last game.

The Punjab Kings have the last chance to keep their hopes alive for a berth in the next round. The side would be under immense pressure playing this game after their heartbreaking loss in the last game. The Royal Challengers Bangalore have shaped up well in the last two games and have nearly booked a berth in the next playoffs round. Both sides have strong batting line-ups and this game is expected to go down the wire.

Faf du Plessis’ side has come up with strong performances in the last two games and moved to the 4th spot on the points table. It was a clinical performance from the Royal Challengers Bangalore against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last game where they won by 67 runs.

Their batters and bowlers are looking in good form. They had lost to the Punjab Kings earlier and Faf du Plessis would aim to even it out with a good show here and secure a spot in the playoffs.

Virat Kohli scored his third golden duck in the last game and the Royal Challengers Bangalore side would have bigger expectations from him as he opens the batting with Faf du Plessis. Rajat Patidar looks in good form and the side would like to see him build partnerships with Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik in the middle order. Shahbaz Ahmed, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Mahipal Lomror bring firepower to this line-up down the order.

The Australia duo of spinner Glenn Maxwell and pacer Josh Hazlewood did well in the last game opening the bowling and early strikes would be needed from them. Pacer Mohammad Siraj and spinner Wanindu Hasaranga have been the most consistent bowlers for the side and they would fancy their chances here. In Harshal Patel, Mahipal Lomror, and Shahbaz Ahmed the side has good variety in its bowling attack and this will add to their confidence.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is playing the ongoing IPL 2022 under Faf Du Plessis. Notably, the 37-year-old scored 633 runs for CSK in last year’s IPL 2021-winning campaign.  The RCB captaincy had fallen vacant when the previous captain Virat Kohli had announced before the start of the 2021 season that it would be his last as the franchise’s skipper.

Faf du Plessis was bought by the RCB for INR 7 crore at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. He has smashed 389 runs in IPL 2022 so far in 12 IPL 2022 games averaging 35.36 and is Royal Challengers Bangalore’s leading run-getter. Virat Kohli, the ex-Indian and Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper is a right-handed batsman. The team will expect him to play a big role once again this season. Virat Kohli is the leading run-scorer in the IPL and holds the record for the most number of centuries (4) in an IPL season. He was retained ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction for INR 15 crores.

He scored 48 against Mumbai and is the team’s 3rd highest run-getter this season with 216 runs averaging a mere 19.64 which doesn’t depict a good picture going by Virat Kohli’s caliber and credentials. He opened against Gujarat in place of Anuj Rawat, who had scored only 129 runs in 8 IPL 2022 games averaging 16.13. He scored his first fifty this season- 58 off 53 against Gujarat Titans but he also was dismissed thrice without scoring any run.

Dinesh Karthik

Dinesh Karthik, the man who was responsible for India’s incredible win against Bangladesh in the Nidahas Trophy final, is donning the RCB jersey for the second time. An incredibly fine wicket-keeper and a decent striker of the ball, Dinesh Karthik is a veteran of more than 200 IPL games.

Royal Challengers Bangalore wrested him from the jaws of Chennai Super Kings after an intense bidding war for Rs 5.50 crore. He has played the role of finisher extremely well and has set IPL 2022 on fire. He is RCB’s 2nd highest scorer in IPL 2022 with 274 runs in 12 games averaging an impressive 68.5 and has a stunning phenomenal strike rate of exactly 200.

At the 2022 Mega Auction, Mahipal Lomror was snapped by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 95 lakhs.

He was bought by the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) ahead of the ninth season of the IPL before moving to Rajasthan Royals. While he featured only in only five games across IPL 2019 and IPL 2020, Rajasthan Royals retained the youngster for the IPL 2021.

He played in the place of Suyash Prabhudessai and scored 16 runs off 8 balls against Gujarat Titans. He scored a match-winning 42 against CSK in his 2nd match. He has scored 58 runs in 2 IPL 2022 innings (3 games) averaging 29.
