This will be the second encounter between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals this season. RCB defeated RR by 4 wickets while chasing the target of 170 runs in that game.

Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered a huge defeat in their last game against SRH after getting bowled out on 68. RR is in the third position in the points table with 10 points. RCB have dropped down to 4th position after their loss against SRH with 8 points in 8 matches. RR has both Orange and Purple cap holders in batter Jos Buttler and spinner Yuzvendra Chahal respectively.

Rajasthan Royals had a tough game against DC. Jos Buttler’s third IPL 2022 ton and a fiery knock of 46 in just 19 balls from skipper Sanju Samson took RR to 222 runs with the loss of 2 wickets. A wonderful effort from Delhi Capitals’ batters brought them 36 runs closer to the target with 2 overs in hand. A magnificent maiden over from Prasidh Krishna made it easier for RR to win the game by just 15 runs.

For Rajasthan Royals, Jos Buttler scored his third century of the season against DC and now has a stronghold on the purple cap. He might chase the record of Virat Kohli’s 973 runs and 4 hundred in a season. Jos Buttler has scored 491 runs so far at a strike rate of 161.51. His partner Devdutt Padikkal is also scoring runs from the other end. Devdutt Paddikal registered a half-century in RR’s last game. With Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer coming later, RR has the most destructible top-order.

The duo has strike rates above 170 and has scored more than 200 runs each. But RR’s main downside is its weak middle order. Both Karun Nair and Riyan Parag are not dependable options for RR if the first four batters fail to perform. It will be ideal to bring Yashasvi Jaiswal back into the team for Karun Nair.

RR might face a situation with their bowling attack as they play exactly 5 pure bowlers. In the last two games, Trent Bolt has been gone for runs. It is Prasidh Krishna who is stopping the runs. Prasidh Krishna came into the bowl with Delhi Capitals requiring 36 runs from 12 balls. He bowled a maiden over and took the wicket of Lalit Yadav to dent Delhi further.

Yuzvendra Chahal is absolutely brilliant with the ball this season. Yuzvendra Chahal has taken 18 wickets at an economy of 7.28 and has the purple cap with him for the last 4 matches. His counterpart Ravichandran Ashwin is very economical for RR but not getting the desired wickets. He has just 4 wickets in 7 games after bowling all 28 overs. Pacer Obed McCoy will continue to play the death-over bowlers part after helping RR win in the last two games.

In the IPL 2022 game against Kolkata-KKR, Karun Nair, Trent Boult, and Obed McCoy came in place of James Neesham, Kuldeep Sen, and Rassie van der Dussen. They retained their places in the XI against Delhi and all of them may play against RCB.

Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler was one of the expected retentions for the Rajasthan Royals for INR 10 Crores and he brings a lot of value to the side in terms of winning games for the franchise. Jos Buttler has the ability to win matches on his own and he scored 254 runs in seven IPL games last year at a strike rate of 153 which speaks volumes of his ability.

He has scored the first ton of IPL 2022 and is currently the leading run-scorer (Orange Cap holder) with 491 runs in 7 games averaging 81.83 at a strike rate of 161.51. He scored another ton against KKR and against DC in the last game. He has already scored 3 tons including 2 successive ones.
