RR vs CSK: Parthiv Patel Wants MS Dhoni To Play Rajvardhan Hangargekar Against Rajasthan Royals

MS Dhoni‘s Chennai Super Kings play their last league game of the season against Rajasthan Royals at the Brabourne Stadium on Friday, May 2o. The Royals are placed third on the points table with 16 points and must win this game to get to the playoffs. They can get through with 16 points as well but things might become a bit tight with the NRR coming into play.

CSK have used the majority of their players through the season barring India U-19 all-rounder Rajvardhan Hangargekar. Chennai roped him in for 1.5 crores at the mega auction. Parthiv Patel wants MS Dhoni to play him in the last game and give him a taste of the IPL.

“CSK will try everything to win this last match. They might try some new combinations. That will be something unpredictable. I wish to see Rajvardhan Hangargekar come in for Prashanth Solanki. I have been saying this from the first day. Hopefully, Dhoni plays him in the last game. I was disappointed with Fleming’s statement regarding him. This is an ideal opportunity for the youngster if he is fit” said Parthiv Patel on Cricbuzz.

Stephen Fleming had earlier told the media earlier in the season that they do not want to expose Hangargekar way too early in his career. He also added that Hangargekar is heading in the right direction.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals also have some big gains out of this game. They are currently placed third on the points table and a good game can elevate them to the second spot on the points table. Pragyan Ojha also highlighted the same on Cribuzz saying

“After a certain stage, when a team realizes that it can qualify, their first glance is towards the top two spots. The extra game is very important. Teams do not wish to crumble under the pressure of important matches such as the qualifier and ruin 70-75 days of hard work.”
