Australian Test batting sensational Marnus Labuschagne backed Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore to win the coveted IPL 2022 trophy.

RCB thumped Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 14 runs in the Eliminator game on Wednesday (May 25). RCB will face Rajasthan Royals in the Qualifier 2 in their quest for their fourth appearance in the IPL final.

RCB beat LSG by 14 runs in Eliminator

Rajat Patidar scored a scintillating unbeaten 112, laced by 12 fours and seven sixes, at a staggering strike rate of 207.41 to power RCB to 207/4.

RCB eventually triumphed against LSG by 14 runs with some brilliant bowling by Harshal Patel (1/25) and Josh Hazlewood (3/43) in the slog overs.

Royals lost to Gujarat Titans by six wickets in the Qualifier 1 after David Miller displayed fireworks in the final over.

Miller cracked three sixes off Prasidh Krishna as the Titans needed 16 runs in the final six deliveries to qualify for the final in their maiden season.

On Thursday (May 26), Labuschagne took to his official Twitter handle to post a poll on the winner of IPL 2022.

One of the user asked the Australian batter which team he will support from the remaining three teams.

“Who do y(o)u want to win marnus? I am rooting to rcb. Btw not a fan of any of the 3 teams,” the user asked.

“RCB – @imVkohli will go big,” Labuschagne responded to the comment.

Virat Kohli has amassed 334 runs in 15 innings at 23.86 with a couple of fifties against Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022 so far. He scored 73 in RCB’s final league stage match against the Titans to not only keep the team’s chances alive bit also issued a statement about his resurgence with the bat.

Kohli made 25 in 24 balls in the Eliminator before he attempted to play an upper cut off Avesh Khan but was caught by Mohsin Khan at third man.

RCB will play Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 on Friday (May 27) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
