SRH and RR kick off their respective IPL campaign by facing off against each other at the MCA stadium in Pune on March 29. This is the first game to be played in Pune in IPL 2022. IPL 2022 thus will be a 10-team event with matches to be played across the four venues in Maharashtra. Wankhede and DY Patil Stadium will host 20 matches each while the Brabourne stadium in Mumbai and MCA Stadium in Pune will play hosts to 15 games each.
 Sunrisers Hyderabad after retaining Umran Mailk, Kane Williamson and Abdul Samad picked up Nicholas Pooran, Marco Jansen among the top foreign names while buying back Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan. Â
The Royals retained skipper Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler and young U-19 talent Yashasvi Jaiswal in the auction. They packed their bowling by buying Trent Boult, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal who were some of the crucial buys for RR.
Both teams will miss some of their previous key players who featured for them in the previous editions. So far both teams have played 15 games with SRH winning eight and the Royals winning seven games. Heading into their opening games, there is nothing much to choose between the two teams.Â
