Kane Williamson would be missing this fixture due to personal reasons (birth of his child) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar is likely to lead Sunrisers Hyderabad in his absence.  Sunrisers Hyderabad snatched a 3-run win from the jaws of defeat against Mumbai Indians.

Priyam Garg played well after being promoted up the order and he would need to provide a solid start with Abhishek Sharma. The side would be happy with the form of Nicholas Pooran and Rahul Tripathi in the middle order, and they would look to build partnerships with Aiden Markram. Glenn Phillips is likely to come into the side as a finisher and he would look to add quick runs with Washington Sundar.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar did well in the last game with the ball, but he would need support from Fazalhaq Farooqi and strike early in the game. Sunrisers Hyderabad would also expect to see tight spells from T Natrajan who has been their best bowler this season. Washington Sundar and Umran Malik will have to put brakes on Punjab’s scoring rates given their batting strength.

Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson has not experienced the best of forms with the bat in IPL 2022 so far. The right-hander has managed to score just 216 runs from as many as 13 matches at a poor strike rate of less than 100. During the previous game between these two teams earlier in the ongoing IPL 2022, the Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to register a convincing 7-wicket victory against Punjab Kings.

Abhishek Sharma was picked for Rs. 6.5 crores by Sunrisers Hyderabad during IPL 2022 auction. The franchise re-bought the player in their squad. Last year, Abhishek Sharma scored 98 runs in 8 games at an average of 16.33.

He scored 75 off 50 balls against CSK in a match-winning effort while opening and would certainly retain his place as an opening batter. He has scored 383 runs averaging 29.46 in 13 matches including 2 fifties in IPL 2022. He is SunRisers Hyderabad’s 2nd highest run-getter this season.
