Yuzvendra Chahal Released By Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) In IPL 2022 Retention. Royal Challengers Bangalore have not retained Yuzvendra Chahal for the next edition of IPL. This is a big development as Yuzvendra Chahal has been RCB’s premier spinner for many years.

His performance in the last couple of years, however, saw a dip. Yuzvendra Chahal’s numbers weren’t too satisfying and he was also excluded from India’s T20 World Cup squad.

However, Chahal made a rollicking comeback in the second leg of IPL 2021. He picked wickets consistently for RCB and was also quite economical.

Overall, he played 15 matches and picked 18 wickets at an average of 20.77. Despite that, RCB have decided to release him ahead of the mega auctions.

Yuzvendra Chahal began his IPL journey with Mumbai Indians. MI bought Chahal in the 2011 edition of the tournament but didn’t play a single game for three seasons.

He played one match in the 2013 edition of the tournament before going to Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2014. Chahal played all 14 matches for RCB in the 2014 edition of the tournament and picked 12 wickets at an economy of 7.01. He went on to play all the season for RCB till the last edition.

In his illustrious cricket, Yuzvendra Chahal has played 114 matches in the Indian Premier League and picked 139 matches at an economy of under 8. His best season came in the year 2020 when he picked 21 wickets in 15 matches at an average of 19.28.
