IPL 2021 Auction: Kolkata Knight Riders' Performance Rating

Similar to SunRisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders also had only INR 10.75 crores left in their purse. Kolkata Knight Riders’ biggest buy of the IPL 2021 auction was Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who they purchased for INR 3.2 crores. With all their bases already covered, the Knight Riders did not need extensive spending.

The two-time champions also made some smart buys that included Sheldon Jackson, Harbhajan Singh, Karun Nair, Pawan Negi, Venkatesh Iyer. The Knight Riders’ decision to recruit Ben Cutting was a masterstroke since he could be an excellent backup for Andre Russell, who remained out of form in IPL 2020. Their performance rating is 8/10 after the IPL 2021 auction.
