IPL 2021 is all set to entertain fans with nail-biting matches. The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League starts on April 9, 2021, with the first game between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Both the teams are led by star Indian cricketers. Virat Kohli is the skipper of Royal Challengers Bangalore while Mumbai Indians are led by Rohit Sharma. A total of 60 matches will be played during IPL 2021 at 6 different venues across the country.

Mumbai Indians is the most successful team in the Indian Premier League so far. The team won their first IPL trophy in 2013 and have won the titles for a record five times. In IPL 2013, Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings in the final by 23 runs to take away the trophy. IPL 2013 also witnessed few nail-biting matches that thrilled the audience to a great level. Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (Rajiv Gandhi Int. Stadium, Hyderabad)

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s home game against Royal Challengers Bangalore ended in a tie. RCB batted first in the match and scored a low total of 130-8. Virat Kohli and Moises Henriques were the only players with a good knock of 46 and 44 runs respectively. The rest of the batsmen were dismissed for a single-digit score. SRH’s Ishant Sharma took 3 wickets in the match. While bowling, Royal Challengers Bangalore also performed brilliantly. Hanuma Vihari played an unbeaten 44 run-knock for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

In the final over, Sunrisers Hyderabad needed 7 runs to win. With Vinay Kumar’s great bowling, the match went to the final ball in which Sunrisers Hyderabad needed to score 2 runs. However, they could only score 1 run and the match ended in a tie. In the super over, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batsmen Cameron While and Thisara Perera scored 20 runs off Vinay Kumar’s over. Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle batted for RCB but with Dale Steyn’s challenging bowling, they could only score 14 runs and lost the match.

Royal Challengers Bangalore played another match with a super over in IPL 2013, which was against Delhi Daredevils. However, this time, Royal Challengers Bangalore were on the winning end. Delhi batted first and scored 152-5. Kedar Jadhav and Irfan Pathan scored 29 runs and 19 runs respectively to help Delhi cross the 150-run mark in the end.

Virat Kohli scored 65 runs and AB de Villiers scored 39 for Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB needed 2 runs off the final ball of Irfan Pathan. However, Ravi Rampaul could only sneak a single and the match went to the super over.  AB de Villiers smashed 2 sixes in the super over bowled by Umesh Yadav taking RCB to 15 runs. Ravi Rampaul dismissed two batsmen of Delhi Daredevils and they could only reach 11 runs. RCB won the match in the super over.

Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Pune Warriors match in IPL 2013 is an iconic match that is known for many records. Chris Gayle played an impeccable knock of 175 runs off 66 balls to score the highest-ever individual score in the Indian Premier League. Royal Challengers Bangalore also put up 263-5 on the scoreboard which is the highest ever team total in IPL so far. Gayle smashed 17 sixes and 13 fours during his knock that thrilled spectators.

Chasing almost an impossible target, Pune Warriors reached 133-9 in 20 overs and lost the match by 130 runs. Chris Gayle came to the limelight with his one-man show in the match and scripted few batting records in his name in the Indian Premier League.
