It's The Fans And The City Itself- AB de Villiers Talks About His Relationship With RCB

Former South African cricketer AB de Villiers stated that his relationship with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the franchise he was a part of for almost a decade, goes beyond cricketing aspects.
The Protean spoke about the importance of the franchise, the fans, and the city in a trailer of a podcast released by RCB. He spent a lot of his time in Bengaluru, playing for RCB and ending up as the second-highest on the list of most runs for the franchise.
“I hope it’s a big apartment because I have three kids now and we need a lot of room! My relationship with RCB goes a lot deeper than just playing cricket for them. And I don’t think it would have been the same for any other franchise and that’s what I hold dearest to my heart – it’s the fans and the city itself,” de Villiers told in an RCB podcast.
“The minute I get into Bangalore there’s a certain freshness in the air” – AB de Villiers
Back when he was in Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), de Villiers didn’t have the same kind of impact on the IPL. Once he was signed by RCB, the 38-year-old became the talk of the town and also one of the most loved players from a foreign country.
“I have always connected with the places I go to. It’s a bit weird but I remember smells and visual stuff I see. The minute I get into Bangalore there’s a certain freshness in the air, a certain something that I sort of connect with that feels familiar.”
“And I would never pick that up in any [other cities]. I have thought about it long and hard – Mumbai, Delhi, if you put me in any other team I never would have had that kind of connection so that’s one thing that I find special while playing for RCB,” he added.
