Sourav Ganguly, President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has stated that he is overjoyed seeing the game he adores evolve so very much, and he has sometimes stated that the IPL continues to generate more earnings than the English Premier League (EPL).

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the world’s biggest sports leagues, with a huge fan base. Every sportsman in the world wants to play at that level, and fans swarm the stadiums whenever a match is scheduled.

“I’ve seen the game change from where participants like myself accomplished a few hundred dollars to where we still can yield millions of dollars. This sport is managed by fans, the citizens of this nation, and the BCCI, which was founded by cricket fans. This is a strength sport that will continue to change.”

‘I believe that the consistent theme is managing people’: Sourav Ganguly

When asked what the similarities are between being captain and managing the BCCI, Sourav Ganguly replied, “I think that the common factor is managing people. This country is rich in skillset, from young athletes to young company employees.”

“I firmly thought that if I want to be the skipper of a dominant team, I had to appreciate my teammates so that they might develop into good players, and that it’s not the other method around; you didn’t maintain it all to yourself and anticipate things to get better; it didn’t occur.”

With the inclusion of two new teams, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants, the IPL 2022 was held on a larger scale this year. After a 74-match season, it was the Gujarat Titans who won the title after beating the Rajasthan Royals in the final.
