Explained: How Mumbai Indians (MI) Can Qualify For IPL 2021 Playoffs

Explained: How Mumbai Indians (MI) Can Qualify For IPL 2021 Playoffs. Royal Challengers Bangalore progressing to the playoffs yesterday after the win against Punjab Kings in IPL 2021 UAE phase has now made it very difficult for Mumbai Indians. They will now have to bank on all other results to go their way as Kolkata winning against Sunrisers Hyderabad wasn’t the result they would have wanted as well.

The Rohit Sharma-led side is currently in the seventh position in the points table and they do not have much time to get their mojo back. They still have a shot at the playoffs and hence they should try to win their games handsomely hoping the other results go their way. They have the calibre and potential to be among the best and here is how Mumbai Indians can qualify for IPL 2021 playoffs.

How Mumbai Indians Can Still Qualify For IPL 2021 Playoffs:

Mumbai Indians’ primary task from here on will be to win the remaining two games and then hope that they can pass through by 14 points or net run rate. They have two games in hand against the SRH, and the RR and they have to win both those games by a big margin which is not going to be easy.

Mumbai Indian’s net run rate is the second-lowest in the season and only SRH are behind them. They will be hoping RR, and PBKS lose at least one of their remaining games which will make it a little easier for the Mumbai side. However, they need to come up with different plans in the next game as they haven’t been able to excel through these plans.

It could come down to the slightest of margins in the end, and MI has scraped through into the playoffs in the past. The defending champions are unstoppable when they start to peak around and their next assignment will be up against the Rajasthan Royals side tomorrow evening.
