IPL 2021: I Think He Has Got The Technique For Test Level, Reckons Brad Hogg On CSK Opener

Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg has predicted CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad to make it to the Indian test side in the near future and he has been impressed by the youngster’s technique. Ruturaj Gaikwad’s sensational run of form with the bat at the top of the order has taken CSK to the finals and he has already crossed the 600 run mark in the season.

Gaikwad has already made his debut for India in the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka and he recently brought up his maiden IPL century as well. His timing has been impeccable and is believed to be the future of Indian cricket. He will be one of the players to watch out for in the IPL 2021 and he just needs 23 more runs to bag the orange cap of IPL 2021.

Brad Hogg Feels It Will Be A Battle Between The Openers

Brad Hogg mentioned that Gaikwad’s rise in stature will make him a good prospect for becoming the next Indian test opener and was very much impressed with the technique on display. He added that the battle will be between the openers of both sides who have been fantastic so far and have been the top scorers for their sides.

“Gaikwad is really rising in stature. It won’t be too long before, I think, we will see him opening at the Test level. I think he has got the technique for it.”

“It’s going to be a battle between the openers. Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis have been carrying CSK throughout this whole tournament. For KKR, Gill and Venkatesh Iyer have been awesome. Venkatesh Iyer has crept up the ladder of leading run-getters and he has only played in the UAE,” Brad  Hogg told on his Youtube Channel.

Brad Hogg Heaps Praise On Venkatesh Iyer

Brad Hogg hailed the KKR opener, Venkatesh Iyer, to be the find of the tournament and reckoned that the team that dominates the powerplay will go on to win the finals of IPL 2021.

“He has been the big find of the tournament and has turned it around for KKR. Whoever dominates the powerplay between these two teams will end up winning the game for their team,” he added.

Venkatesh Iyer has already scored 320 runs in the UAE phase of IPL 2021 and he has partnered Shubman Gill really well.
