Delhi Capitals bowling coach James Hopes mentioned that the youngsters Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer have complemented each other really well while batting and in the field. It has been evident in their success as well as this is their third consecutive season where they have made the playoffs.
The Delhi Capitals was led by Shreyas Iyer until last year and he almost pulled off their maiden title before losing to Mumbai Indians in the finals. However, this year has been very special for Delhi again as they are on top of the table and Pant’s captaincy has been notably good.

James Hopes mentioned that the importance of staying in good form ahead of the playoffs for the Delhi Capitals and added that the team has been focussing on not thing too far ahead. He was keen to make it happen this year as Delhi Capitals have never won an IPL title.
“We hope we can go all the way, but we are trying to keep the guys really focussed. They need to take it one game at a time. We need to keep building towards the finals.” James Hopes told TOI.
James Hopes Opines on Iyer And Pant’s Captaincy Success
James Hopes revealed that Iyer and Pant have always planned well together and they do not panic under pressure which is one of the most important attributes. He added that Iyer and Pant have been reaping the benefits of each other’s success and they do complement each other well while batting.
“They both (Iyer and Pant) plan very well. They’re both calm. They don’t overreact or underreact to the situation. And the thing we’ve seen in the games is that they feed off each other really well when they bat together, their styles complement each other exceptionally well.” He added on the difference in captaincy
Delhi is likely to finish in the top two spots in the points table and they will have extra shots for the finals.
