IPL 2021, Qualifier 2: Delhi Capitals vs Kolkata Knight Riders – Toss Report

On Wednesday, in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2021, Delhi Capitals will take on the in-form Kolkata Knight Riders at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, the same venue where KKR defeated RCB in Eliminator.

The Capitals, who finished on top of the points table, are coming off two back-to-back defeats, to RCB and CSK. It was the MS Dhoni show that took the game away from DC towards the end, and now they are on the cusp of being knocked out.

KKR, on the other hand, are having a memorable season turnaround – they won 5 of the 7 league matches in the UAE leg, and dominated RCB in the Eliminator.

Dehli are hoping for Marcus Stoinis to be fit again while KKR dwell on the injury of Andre Russell.

On the head-to-head front, the two-time champions have a slight edge over Delhi. KKR have defeated DC in 15 matches while conceded 12 losses.

These two teams last met in Sharjah during the league phase, when Sunil Narine helped KKR to a 3-wicket win, starring both with the ball (2/18) and bat (21 off 10). Before that, during the India leg, Prithvi Shaw blew away the KKR bowlers, scoring 82 runs off 41 balls including smashing Shivam Mavi for six fours in an over, and took his side to a 7-wicket win.
