On Wednesday, September 29 Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals locked horns with Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium and Royal Challengers Bangalore won the match by 7 wickets.
Royal Challengers Bangalore were entering the match with a big win in the previous game against Mumbai Indians. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals (RR) were entering the game with a loss in the last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and opted to field first and they made one change in the playing XI as they dropped Kyle Jamieson and added left-arm-pacer George Garton in the team. Also, Rajasthan Royals also made one change as Karthik Tyagi was back in the playing XI in place of Jayden Unadkat.
Batting first Rajasthan Royals (RR) openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Evin Lewis shined. They both looked comfortable out in the middle and were seen smashing all the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers. For the first wicket, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Evin Lewis managed to add 77 runs from 50 balls. Meanwhile, Evin Lewis finished his innings at the score of 58 and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 31.
After the openers lost their wicket, no Rajasthan Royals batter managed to accelerate the innings. Even the skipper of the team Sanju Samson only managed to score 19 runs.
So after the massive batting failure of the middle order. Rajasthan Royals were able to post 149 runs on the board.
Chasing the target skipper Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal got off to a flying start with bowlers getting smahsed from both the ends. However, Mustafizur Rahman who has been the best bowler of Rajasthan Royals in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 castled Devdutt Padikkal in the last over the powerplay. In the very next over Virat Kohli was sent back to pavilion by Riyan Parag’s direct hit.
However, after that Srikar Bharat and Glenn Maxwell played outstanding innings and eventually Royal Challengers Bangalore won the game by 7 wickets with 17 balls remaining.
