IPL 2021: Updated Points Table, Orange Cap, And Purple Cap Table After SRH vs CSK

On Thursday, September 30, MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings went head-to-head with Kane Williamson’s Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 44th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. And CSK won the game by 6 wickets to become the first team to officially qualify for playoffs.

Team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were victorious in their last game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) were also entering the match with a comfortable win over Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won the toss and opted to field, Also West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo made a comeback in the playing XI in place of Sam Curran. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad fielded an unchanged XI.

Batting first the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opening duo Jason Roy and Wriddhiman Saha were unable to provide a good start to the team. As Roy was dismissed by Hazlewood in the 4th over.

Also, the skipper of Orange Army Kane Williamson was sent to the pavilion in 7th over by Dwayne Bravo. Meanwhile, after that youngsters of team Sunrisers Hyderabad tried to build the innings but Chennai Super Kings bowlers made sure that Kane Williamson-led side don’t post big runs.

Josh Hazlewood in the 17th over picked the wickets of Abhishek Sharma and Abdul Samad. Then overseas players, Jason Holder and Rashid Khan were left in the middle. Although Holder got out, Rashid fought well and helped Sunrisers Hyderabad post 134 runs on board which was considered as a good score in slow Sharjah surface.

Meanwhile, Chasing the target Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis provided an excellent start and they utilized every bit of pace they got in the slow Sharjah surface. The opening duo completed a 50-run partnership in no time. Adding to it, the West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder finally got a breakthrough for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 11th over of the match at the score of 75. With that Moeen Ali joined Faf du Plessis out in the middle.

Moeen Ali played few good strokes but was dismissed in the 15th over, and Chennai faced a mini batting collapse losing the wickets of Suresh Raina and Faf du Plessis in the 16th over. However, in the end, Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni led Chennai towards victory, with MSD finishing the game with a huge six.
