IPL 2021: Watch – Lalit Yadav Castles KKR's In-form Opener Venkatesh Iyer

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) didn’t have a good start during the chase in the 41st match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 against Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, as they lost the man in red hot form, Venkatesh Iyer, in the 5th over of the game.

Notably, the Delhi Capitals (DC) bowler Lalit Yadav dismissed Venkatesh Iyer in the 3rd ball of the 5th over. He bowled a good length delivery on middle and off at the speed of 98kph. Meanwhile, Iyer missed his flick and was beaten on the inside edge, the ball remained moderately low and went on to smash the stumps.

The man in red hot form, Venkatesh Iyer was able to score only 14 runs from 15 balls, during his innings he smashed 2 fours as well. Soon after his dismissal Rahul Tripathi also lost his wicket against Avesh Khan and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) looked in slight trouble.

Delhi Capitals (DC) Posts 127 Runs Batting First

Delhi Capitals (DC) made one forced change in the team as opener Prithvi Shaw suffered an injury and Australian Steve Smith was added to the playing XI. The new opening pair of Steve Smith and Shikhar Dhawan managed to add 35 runs for the first wicket before Shikhar Dhawan lost his wicket against Lockie Ferguson.

Notably, Shikhar Dhawan managed to score 24 runs off 20 balls. Meanwhile, Former Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Shreyas Iyer was also dismissed very soon by Sunil Narine. And in the 13th over Lockie Ferguson sent another DC opener back to the dugout. As he castled Steve Smith 39(34) in that over with fierce delivery.

Soon Shimron Hetmyer lost his wicket against Venkatesh Iyer in 14th over. Also after that Lalit Yadav and Axar Patel were dismissed in the 15th and 16th over.

Meanwhile, in the end, Delhi Capitals (DC) were able to post only 127 runs on the board at the loss of 9 wickets. Also, the Rishabh Pant-led side couldn’t even hit a single six in an innings and this was only the second instance when DC has failed to do so.
